For this outdoor photoshoot, Dingdangqi and I partnered up to cosplay Columbina and Sandrone Cosplay from Genshin Impact, respectively. When scouting locations initially, we specifically chose a venue featuring classical stone pillars and lush green lawns, visiting ahead of time to lock down the 3:00 PM window for ideal side rim backlighting that complements the characters' distinct auras. Bringing Columbina to life demanded the greatest effort on the wig styling: I utilized a base with subtle silver-gray gradients, curled the tips with meticulous definition, and ensured the black ribbons and red satin headpieces were strictly symmetrical. To capture that ethereal, detached mystique, the makeup intensified the contrast of vivid blue colored contacts paired with slightly upturned eyeliner wings. Wardrobe-wise, the purple gown paired with black opera gloves, while metallic chest ornaments gleamed under direct sunlight for exquisite detail. When taking on this character, getting every detail right is essential. Regarding the White stockings, to ensure a smooth, wrinkle-free look before the lens, I tested multiple fabrics beforehand and ultimately selected a semi-sheer, high-elasticity pair; paired with black platform shoes accented by red bows, it beautifully elongated the leg contours. Sandrone Cosplay was styled in a black-and-red hair blend with a blue dress, which alongside her crimson lenses and white wing hair ornaments created intense visual impact when we stood together. Posing was honestly the most exhausting part of the shoot: sitting on the stone steps, we had to continuously adjust our seating angles to prevent the voluminous skirts from concealing our legs while calibrating the precise gaze directions. The outdoor sunlight was harsh, so we used reflectors for facial fill to prevent overexposure. Completing two full costume sets and site transitions took over four grueling hours, leaving our feet aching. Yet seeing the final deliverables—the rich textures of light tracing fabric folds and the visual tension of both Fatui Harbingers sharing the frame—made every bit of effort well worth it.
