[Rina Cosplay] Elegant Maid of Zenless Zone Zero: Dual Charm of Cooking and Combat

This Rina costume design is very unique, featuring a black, white, and red color scheme plus various metallic small parts with a mechanical texture, possessing both the softness of a Maid outfit and the crisp capability of a combatant. Before shooting, I made meticulous adjustments to overall makeup and hair—special attention was required for the lace edges of the headpiece and the layering of the wig, all to restore that light, gentle feel mixed with a touch of playfulness.

As for the outfit itself, the black sleeves feature spliced silver metal blocks and red line accents, which, paired with the golden cylindrical accessories hanging from the waist, make it very heavy-duty. The skirt has a multi-layered structure; the outer black layer is printed with white triangular geometric patterns, while the inner white ruffle folds are sewn quite densely, so when walking or lifting one leg as in the photo, the spread-out state of the skirt looks fantastic. To make the silhouette sleeker, the waist corset belt was tailored very snugly while ensuring mobility, making it easier to hold these poses.

When restoring the character, besides the costume and wig, facial expression and demeanor are also key. She inherently carries an unhurried, lazy composure, so I tried to keep finger movements light—like holding the cake or book in the pictures, deliberately presenting a contrasting charm of calm elegance coupled with a subtly wicked yet cute temperament. As for props, that cake prop really took a lot of work, with the blueberry and jam details looking extremely realistic. Holding it made it feel like I was genuinely taking care of daily housework. The photo with the book also served as a subtle nod to her lore of studying recipes.

Regarding the shooting environment, part of it was completed in a studio. The solid-color gradient background was clean, suitable for displaying full-body silhouette and movement—for example, that single-leg standing pose required high control over center of gravity balance and garment flutter. Another part was shot on location, choosing a corner with bookshelves, a red cabinet, and a leather sofa; warm-toned lighting shining on me added an everyday atmosphere while better presenting the textures of various fabrics.

Regarding her love for cooking mentioned in the description—though many people might not be able to handle the food she cooks—I genuinely experienced the joy of serving this dessert when restoring this set of photos. Whether I count as a "chosen one" or not I don't know, but expressing this unique character charm through the lens was a very fun experience in itself for Anime-style photography.

During the shoot, I also discussed many light/shadow and posing ideas with the photographer, such as how to display high waistlines and the optimal proportion of thigh-high socks and shoes in the frame. This time I specifically paired black red-bottomed Mary Jane shoes with white thigh-high socks; this combination actually tests leg lines quite a bit, as relaxing even a little would make it look less crisp. Fortunately, after adjusting time and again, the final overall effect was quite satisfying to me.

The whole costume has quite a few metal buckles and straps, so putting it on and taking it off indeed takes effort and strength each time, but for visual fidelity, it's all worth it for this Rina cosplay. I hope the final photos present her most unique temperament and bring everyone a slightly different visual experience.
