[Rei Ayanami cosplay] Neon Genesis Evangelion: Poster style Rock band Theme

This set of Poster style Rei Ayanami Rock band-themed creations has been successfully completed. For this shoot, we mainly wanted to try combining the character's inherent coolness with the wild energy of a Rock band. To match the texture of vintage magazine posters, we chose a clean blue background to simulate a cover shoot, utilizing an electric guitar and a clapperboard as props in hopes of achieving an effect akin to authentic magazine spreads.

In terms of costume, we custom-made a cutout-designed gray top and a blue raw-edge jacket, paired with a red belt and leg covers—this structured silhouette delivers a stronger visual punch than standard outfits. On the shooting day, lighting was finely tuned, primarily using rim side-backlight to emphasize fabric textures and skin luster. We also set up camera angles from various perspectives. Wanting to showcase more body lines, we repeatedly adjusted poses during composition, such as kneeling and side-lying postures, which better highlighted slender legs and overall body contours.

Regarding the cover selection, out of five photos, I ultimately chose the second one with a low-angle upward perspective as the cover. Its composition is full and well-balanced, neatly avoiding obvious text watermarks, with the subject centered and not pressed against the edges, and the light hitting the collarbones and leg lines at ideal spots. This angle preserves the character's cool elegance while infusing visual dynamic tension, making it perfect as the lead image.

Because post-processing prioritized realism, skin texture and color saturation were meticulously adjusted, retaining facial shadows and fabric folds to give the overall photos a film-like grain and texture. Although continuously adjusting poses during the shoot was physically demanding, the resulting texture and atmosphere met all expectations, making for a truly unique Anime-style photography experiment.
