This photoshoot themed around Cheshire's Oath Bride from Azur Lane is truly one of my favorite recent works. The wedding gown design is remarkably refined, featuring a halter cutout neckline and a massive trailing tulle train that flutters with incredible lightness when moving. To faithfully recreate that airy, dreamy essence, I specifically matched a blue-gray gradient wig and a sapphire choker, using high-key studio lighting to maximize the pure, luminous feel of the entire frame.
Sitting on the white wrought-iron bench while holding a soft pink rose bouquet was actually a spontaneous idea suggested by the photographer, and the result turned out unexpectedly wonderful. Cheshire as a character naturally carries a lively yet romantic demeanor, so when posing, I deliberately avoided exaggerated movements, relying instead on subtle glances and finger placements to convey that lazy yet playful aura. For instance, lightly touching the chin in the first shot and the extended side-seated pose in the third were all about finding the most natural, graceful curves.
A lot of effort went into the makeup as well: the base was applied light and translucent, with special emphasis on the blue lenses and long eyelashes to give the overall look that clear, vibrant quality characteristic of Anime-style photography. The gown is crafted from a patchwork of chiffon and lace, requiring meticulous attention to the skirt arrangement during shooting to avoid bulky creasing. Fortunately, the on-set props were fantastic—the adjacent white piano, Roman pillars, and blooming faux white flowers all resonated flawlessly with the "Oath" theme in this Wedding dress cosplay.
Shooting this set was physically demanding; because of the long train, I had to be constantly vigilant not to step on the hem, while the high heels required continuous center-of-gravity adjustments. Yet the moment I saw the finished photos, every bit of effort felt entirely worth it. The diffused glow created by light hitting the sheer tulle gave my skin a soft, ethereal halo. The magic of cosplay lies in using wardrobe, styling, and scenery to briefly transform oneself into a character from another world, experiencing her emotions during a grand ceremony.
Beyond conventional standing and seated poses, I explored emotive micro-expressions to convey more of the character's nuanced personality in static images. In-game, Cheshire is cheerful, energetic, and clingy, but slipping into a wedding gown adds an air of tenderness and solemnity—a captivating contrast I was eager to capture. How does everyone feel about this bridal look? Personally, I adore that extended posture in the third photo the most; it feels poised and elegant while showcasing the gown's flowing silhouette.
