[Arknights Shu cosplay] A Warm Moment Frozen in the Golden Wheat Waves

This photoshoot features the styling of Sister Shu from the Sui family in Arknights. The entire scene is set in a golden rice field, and the initial choice for the outdoor location was to capture the serenity and guardianship inherent to the character. Actually, the shooting process wasn't as smooth as imagined. The wind that day was unexpectedly strong, often messing up the wig's bangs and sideburns, but it was precisely because of the breeze that the wheat waves and the character had a wonderful dynamic interaction.

In terms of costume, this outfit heavily utilizes traditional fabric patchwork and knot elements. To recreate the texture of the wooden blocks and bead strings from the concept art, we fine-tuned the center of gravity for each accessory before the shoot, ensuring that when raising my hands or swinging the sword, the ornaments would hang down naturally rather than sticking limply to the clothes. For the props, this weapon with green talisman elements went through several rounds of revisions before finalization; holding it carries a certain weight, which actually helped me find a steady grip on the sword when posing.

The lighting on the day of the shoot was very soft, and this diffused light is perfect for expressing the layers of white-based clothing. The photographer deliberately emphasized the proportion between the person and the environment during composition, especially in the full-body shots where the extension of the entire field can be seen, giving the frame a narrative sense of the character guarding this land. I didn't intentionally pursue exaggerated expressions, but tried my best to maintain a calm and gentle state, focusing my mind on embodying the character. Doing cosplay actually requires being meticulous in many aspects. For instance, the clothes and wig from this outdoor shoot took quite a bit of time in post-processing adjustments, but seeing the final photos, the sense of serenity that aligns with the character is very intuitive. This set of photos is more about conveying a quiet atmosphere, and I hope to pass on this warmth through this piece of Anime-style photography.
