[Firefly Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: School Days Waiting for You After Class

The theme this time was set as \"Waiting for You After Class,\" so the scene was intentionally divided into two parts: home and classroom, aiming to present a daily casual vibe belonging to Firefly from Honkai: Star Rail.

For this makeup, I toned down heavy outer contour shadows, placing greater emphasis on facial smooth surface and eye shimmer, paired with purple-pink contacts to make the gaze look translucent and expressive. This makeup style is great for natural light photography without looking muddy. For the wig, I selected a long style with a white-to-teal gradient that felt silky smooth, with the gradient at the tips giving off a cool, clear touch that matches the character's general tone. To restore Firefly's lively charm in casual wear, blush was applied lightly, relying more on light reflections to enhance complexion.

Regarding the outfit, the top features a sailor collar with a white base and gray stripes, with bow tie and cuff details executed very neatly. The bottom is paired with a plaid pleated skirt combining gray, blue, and yellow. This sailor school uniform style pairing has a natural affinity with the character. The length of the white tights stops just under the skirt hem, paired with loafers for a very clean visual. White tights cosplay is actually tricky for lighting—if the light is wrong, they turn into a bright reflector or make the legs look thick. Therefore, the photographer's control over light during the shoot was crucial, highlighting white's sheen while preserving the legs' 3D lines.

Photos 1 and 2 were shot in a room with tatami mats. To build a lived-in feel, we set a retro green desktop electric fan nearby, along with cat-shaped cushions and a brown teddy bear. I laid semi-prone on the bed, holding a light novel with legs bent backward—a pose primarily displaying natural folds in the white tights and skirt hem. The first photo is a close-up with the character centered, gazing into the lens; combined with soft light filtering through window curtains and motion from the fan, it conveys a very relaxed holiday afternoon state. The second photo pulls back wider, incorporating wooden cabinets, houseplants, and a floor lamp to enrich the scene. This cozy home feel is truly perfect for showcasing the character's relaxed side when letting her guard down.

Photos 3 and 4 switched to a classroom backdrop. Green chalkboard, yellow set square, blue globe, along with wood grain floors and vintage desks and chairs instantly bring back school memories. Holding a ballpoint pen, notebook laid open before me, pondering or smiling into the camera captures that casual school day feeling. In particular, Photo 4's full-body seated pose not only displays the overall outfit combination, but also creates color layering between white tights and brown loafers. Sitting at the desk, figuring out how to adjust leg angles to match camera cropping was something reflected on for a long time—balancing composition while showcasing character style.

Shooting these two sets actually consumed a lot of physical energy. The wig was long, and without constant attention, it would block eyes or crush the tips, requiring repeated tidying. Moreover, when doing upper body motions, the skirt hem easily slid up, needing constant position adjustments to prevent unintended exposure and guarantee safety for finished photos. During classroom shooting, positioning also had to adjust according to chalkboard reflection angles to avoid overexposure or heavy facial shadows. The photographer was very professional in controlling this, preserving exposure while restoring scene color tones without overusing flash, seamlessly blending natural light and indoor light so skin tones looked radiant.

As a character cosplayer, I don't want every shoot to feature grand sets or flashy special effects; occasionally taking photos filled with everyday life vibes actually closes the distance between the character and the audience. The light outside the window, the breeze from the fan, the paper texture of books—these combined details constitute the storybook feel of \"Waiting for You After Class\" that this set aims to express. Without complex sets, relying solely on authentic classroom and bedroom environments, paired with meticulous polish on costume, makeup, and props, creates memorable anime-style photography.
