This Honkai: Star Rail cosplay photoshoot for Firefly chose a classroom scene, and the overall photo output effect is very refreshing. In terms of costume preparation, the details of this sailor suit are extremely exquisite; the light blue bow at the collar, the golden embroidered badge, and the buttons were restored as much as possible. The wig is a gradient from silver-white to cyan-green, and the hair accessories were also carefully adjusted in angle to make them fit the original design better. The black headband and leaf decoration on top of the head are the soul of the look—even a slight tilt would affect the overall visual feel, so during breaks between changing poses, I kept adjusting it in front of the mirror.

The shooting day was actually quite exhausting because strong white light was used in the studio to restore the refreshing feel of this sailor suit, specifically to prevent the white stockings from looking grayish under the lights. The photographer specially added a cool-toned color gel, while placing a rim light behind the character to give the edges of the white stockings a translucent feel, and also ensuring the reflection of the black loafers was more prominent. In terms of makeup, the pink contact lenses shouldn't be too exaggerated, otherwise they would look abrupt, so the eyeshadow used a matching matte base, and the eyeliner was slightly elongated along the eye shape, mainly to enlarge the eyes and increase a sense of innocence. The lip makeup chose a watery texture in rose color, maintaining the breathable feel of the entire face.

The classroom setting was specially built, and the desks and chairs were custom-made. That black briefcase prop with the golden logo is quite heavy; when placed on the desk, the golden clasp details on the bag are clearly displayed, making the entire classroom scene feel more like a student environment. In Figure 1, the moment of taking off shoes, stepping on the ground, and pulling the white stockings—I actually tried this many times. Pulling too hard would look deliberate, while too light wouldn't have that sense of daily life. Later, the photographer told me to relax my shoulders, pigeon-toe slightly, and have a gaze with a hint of confusion, and the resulting effect was great. Because the texture of the white stockings is very delicate but also very fragile, while adjusting and pulling the stocking cuffs, I was extra careful with my fingernails for fear of making a hole, which would break the continuity of the entire shoot. When it was successfully finished, I let out a long sigh of relief.

Figure 2 features sitting on a white cube. To highlight the leg lines in this pose, I deliberately shifted my center of gravity backward, and controlled the arc of the crossed legs to make the legs look long and straight. This angle not only completely presents the tailoring of the sailor suit, but also perfectly showcases the extension of the legs and the wrapping feeling of the white stockings. The light hitting the loafers presents a greasy, high-end sense, making it my personal favorite photo. Figure 3, with a hand resting on the head, is a pose I temporarily designed myself because I wanted to show a bit of daily playfulness while revealing the embroidery details on the cuffs. The entire shooting process lasted nearly four hours across three scenes. Although my feet were very sore from wearing the loafers, seeing the raw photos made me feel that everything was worth it.

The sense of campus and a trace of desolation that Firefly presents under this outfit are what I wanted to convey the most in this photoshoot. She is a character with a story against a specific background. In this school style cosplay, I hoped to interpret a sense of contrast—having both the aloofness of a young girl and the innocence-driven focus. During this process, I also discussed many composition details with the photographer, such as keeping the frame as clean as possible without messy backgrounds, so that everyone's line of sight would naturally focus on the character and the white stockings. This set of photos is a very satisfying creation for me personally, capturing what Firefly looks like wearing this uniform quite well.
