[Firefly cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail, attending a Summer's Promise

This shoot of Firefly's Summer's Promise took a lot of thought in scene setup and costume preparation. Seeing the pool and beach settings built by @三喵同学 and the lens planning by @捕秋睡不醒zZ, this summer-themed styling was immediately put on the agenda.

Let's talk about the details of this swimsuit first. The outer dark brown off-the-shoulder ruffle short sleeves come with a vacation-like laziness, and the inner light blue swimsuit forms a sharp color contrast with the yellow bow on the chest. The waist adopts a hollow-out and brown thin string criss-cross strap design, which not only fits body curves but also makes the overall styling more layered. The hem of the lower-body swim trunks adopts multi-level ruffles with a gradient from light blue to light yellow, looking very vibrant when walking. To restore character traits, I wore a black headband with star decorations and a white upright hair accessory, paired with white waist-length long hair and light blue-cyan gradient highlights. The three-layer pearl necklace and transparent beaded bracelet on the neck are the finishing touches, adding a sense of sophistication. Purple-blue contact lenses paired with eye makeup featuring pink smudging can better convey the clarity of the character's gaze under the lens.

Upon arriving at the shooting site, the combination of real outdoor sunlight, artificial beach, and blue mosaic pool filled the summer atmosphere to the brim. To show a more natural body state, we constantly adjusted our positions among white beach chairs, surfboards, and lifebuoys. Posing while sitting was one of the focuses of this shoot. When sitting by the pool, I would naturally stretch my legs into the water or cross them, utilizing the reflection of the water surface to brighten skin tone. The dark brown and light blue outfits contrast very obviously against the blue pool background. To increase the vividness of the frame, I tried holding the pool handrail, hugging a light blue inflatable swimming ring, and even picking up a green glass bottle for foreground interaction. Actions like holding and wearing a straw hat can well modify head proportions, and catching a relaxed state is possible through candid shots of holding the hat brim while closing eyes and smiling.

In terms of action design, I tried to avoid overly rigid posing, but instead incorporated some body language matching the character's personality. For example, pointing fingers at the lens, making a V-sign gesture, or raising both arms to stretch the body; these actions not only better showcase the costume's tailoring, but also convey a playful interactive feel fitting the shooting theme. During the shoot, the photographer kept guiding me to adjust body angles, especially using light and shadow to highlight the fabric texture of the costume and body curves. To highlight the sexy elements of the swimsuit, I would slightly adjust shoulder inclination or utilize sitting postures to showcase leg lines.

I am personally quite satisfied with the overall photo output; high color saturation and transparent lighting make it a photography work that fits the Summer beach theme very well. The process involved constantly adjusting the ruffles of the costume and the wig's position to ensure details from every angle withstand scrutiny.
