This shoot was created around the theme of fusing Qi Lolita with Hanfu elements. I chose a dress in a light mint green color palette, paired with semi-sheer tulle material to create a strong texture contrast against real-world environments.

The costume design features intricate details. The chest area showcases extensive heavy embroidery, dominated by white floral patterns, accented with light gold and light blue threads, with a central ornament resembling a shell or pearl detail that reflects multi-dimensional luster under lighting. Wide flutter sleeves and cape-like sleeves blend organza and chiffon to perfectly capture dynamic lightness. Two light-blue long tassels hang at the waist side, adding agility as they sway with movement. The skirt stacks multiple layers of white lace and tulle to form a voluminous silhouette classic to Lolita cuts, while blending the ethereal vibe of Hanfu in color and texture.

For hair and makeup, matching the demeanor of Qi Lolita, I chose long straight black hair with blunt bangs, leaving delicate long sideburns to frame the face. Symmetrical white and pale pink floral headpieces were carefully selected, adorned with bows and dangling long tassels, rich in decoration without overwhelming the look. High-saturation green contact lenses with lighter outer rings paired with noticeable pink blush blending under eyes and cheeks gave my face an anime character's delicate grace and healthy flush. Dewy peach-pink lip gloss over flawless base makeup achieved a doll-like refined softness.

For location, we specifically selected an ordinary underground parking garage. Surrounded by high-contrast industrial elements—red fire pipes overhead, gray-white concrete pillars, yellow floor marking lines, and blurred modern cars in the background—the heavy modern industrial backdrop highlighted the soft, intricate vintage aesthetics of Qi Lolita, generating a unique contrasting beauty.

Controlling light and shadow during the shoot was intriguing. Underground garage ambient light is relatively even and cool, ideal for expressing tulle sheer transparency and silk fabric sheen, yet lighting in final shots was processed softly to neutralize the garage's raw hardness. Post-processing enhanced character contours, sharpening embroidery details. The set features close-ups emphasizing garment details and makeup textures, as well as medium shots capturing dynamic motion and flowing skirt hems in Casual cosplay moments.

As a highly customized Anime cosplay creation, every phase—from initial concept to styling and post-processing—demanded effort. The challenge in this Hanfu Lolita Style combination lay in balancing Hanfu elements with Lolita cuteness without looking incongruous or letting one dominate. While wearing and moving, the multi-layered skirt somewhat constrained physical motion, but that carefully measured, tiny-stepped posture added to the overall poise and elegance. Overall, it was a delightful shoot that recreated a clear, elegant, yet gorgeous visual sense of Chinese-style photography in my mind.
