The theme of this shoot is "Reimu's New Year Wish." It happened to coincide with the fellow fans' New Spring gala, so I wanted to use this classic red and white shrine maiden outfit to bring everyone a touch of festive ritual. In terms of costume details, the lace edges on the collar and the ruffles on the cuffs were adjusted multiple times to ensure that the layers of the red and white color scheme could be perfectly presented under the natural light of the wooden corridor. The gohei and shide held in my hand were also handmade; the folding angles of the shide and the wrapping method of the gohei specially referenced the original setting so that it wouldn't look stiff when posing with them. The photography was completed in a Japanese garden, where the wooden doors, windows, and pebble paths created a very serene atmosphere. Combined with the soft side-backlight of the afternoon, the pleats of the skirt hem and the texture of the headpiece were beautifully showcased. The shooting process actually tested my expression management quite a bit. Because I needed to express a temperament that was both dignified and a bit playful, I repeatedly adjusted my gaze and the curvature of my mouth. The highlight of this look lies in the large bow and floral decorations on the headpiece, which echo the red cord knot on the chest, making the overall appearance feel more festive. Walking in the garden in this outfit truly made me feel like I could dispel evil spirits and attract good fortune. Although some movements during the shoot required hovering or maintaining stillness for a long time, seeing how harmoniously the light, shadow, and costume blend in the final photos made it all feel worthwhile. I hope this vibrant red energy from this Anime cosplay can be delivered to you through the lens, accompanying you to welcome every wonderful day ahead.
