Shooting this Lucy cosplay from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners at the ruins of the Yangpu Power Plant taught me that donning a Leather jacket in blazing heat demands sheer willpower. To faithfully recreate the character, the outfit relied heavily on high-gloss black bodysuits and a cropped white outerwear piece, fully buttoned and secured with tactical leg holsters, harnesses, and heeled tall boots. Temperatures were searing during the day, and just getting geared up was a sweat-drenching feat. Yet the moment I stepped before the rugged industrial steel frameworks and watched neon lights wash across the reflective fabrics, everything felt utterly worthwhile.

A special shoutout goes to photographer Mao Dour (@伤心肉松小贝) for the guidance as we navigated angles around massive orange crane girders and blue metal railings. Lucy's aesthetic is not merely a striking visual punch; it pulses with the lethal, aloof edge of an Edgerunner. To project that aura, I refined my poses deliberately—sharpening the swift tension when gripping the yellow monowire cable, or leaning casually along the handrail while projecting a poised, battle-ready stance. The silver-white bob with pink-purple gradient ends ruffled in the night breeze, harmonizing with the cyberware line markings drawn across my shoulders and arms to channel that singular cyberpunk blend of decadence and high technology.

The nighttime illumination breathed genuine soul into the location, with magenta and blue neon casting an icy sheen across the metallic floorboards and my leather-like attire. The grey leggings tucked into heeled boots visually elongated my leg lines, though they raised the stakes for physical balance and stamina. Crouching, single-leg balancing, perching along the staircase—every transition demanded checking that garment folds and wig contours remained pristine. Holding the yellow data cable especially required fine muscle control so the posture felt organic yet charged with tension.

The shooting pace was relentless; to capitalize on peak night lighting, we worked virtually non-stop. Despite physical fatigue, the sheer immersion of stepping into her shoes was profoundly rewarding. Lucy embodies an intricate backstory and vivid personality; while replicating her external garb, I also strove to channel her solitude and tenacious grit within Night City. Amidst the collision of rusted ruins and neon glow, completing every frame felt like an exhilarating miniature adventure. Seeing that unmistakable Cyberpunk pulse leap from the finished light and shadow made this an immensely meaningful creative journey.
