This shoot features Eleg from Goddess of Victory: Nikke. This biker techwear style look really appeals to my taste. The yellow and white color-blocked cropped jacket with a large lapel, paired with the iconic orange straps and well-designed waist details, perfectly replicates the character's capable yet slightly high-tech vibe. To complement this setting, we specially chose an auto repair shop in Qingdao that carries both an industrial style and a touch of everyday life. The dartboard in the corner, the flame-patterned tiled wall behind the bar counter, and the scattered car repair tools all push the atmosphere of this set of photos to the maximum.
Special mention goes to the props used in this shoot. Although that yellow mechanical arm and firearm model look extremely cool, they are actually quite heavy in hand. I had to constantly adjust my posture while pretending to hold them effortlessly. Additionally, with the various smoke cakes on the ground and the on-site lighting setup, the photographer controlled the light beautifully—directly darkening the environment to highlight the bright yellow elements on me, giving the entire frame a visual tension born from the collision of neon and industrial vibes.
Shooting this kind of cosplay with heavy amounts of gear is honestly a huge test of physical endurance. However, seeing the character recreated in this way, and having frantic communication about details with the photographer throughout the process, made this collaboration incredibly pleasant. The occasional scent of engine oil drifting through the garage and the working state on set at that time gave an incredibly strong sense of immersion. The hair color was also meticulously trimmed; with the bangs, a platinum base color, and that streak of bright yellow highlights, the light hitting the top of my head creates a beautiful sheen, completely avoiding a rigid, unnatural wig look.
Every time I finish shooting a character with a light cyberpunk vibe like this, I develop a deep admiration for the prop makers and the makeup/stylist team. Eleg herself is an image that looks very cool but is actually highly professional. Being able to capture that sense of freedom, relaxation, and sharp coolness in her temperament means the original intention of this Anime Cosplay set of photos has been fully achieved.
