When shooting this set of convention photos, there wasn't actually too much deliberate planning. Because time was relatively tight on the day of the convention and the lighting environment in the venue was quite complex, photographer @Pulao411 and I basically just found a relatively clean dark background in a corner of the exhibition hall, laid out that white long plush carpet, and started shooting.

The wig in this outfit is very distinctive; the gray-purple short hair with two little buns requires a lot of time for styling and setting to present that slightly messy yet playful texture. The pink plaid cowl around the neck forms a great echo with the plaid pattern of the skirt, reducing the monotony of the upper body. The top section utilizes ruffles and a few small buttons as embellishments, beautifully fitting the character's daily look that leans towards a sweet girl's style. The lace cuffs and pink ribbons on the wrists are a detail I personally love; they look small and exquisite, but when raising my hands or making various interactive poses, they beautifully extend the visual effect of the movements.

The matching of the lower body is the key to this look. The multi-layered plaid tiered cake skirt carries its own puffiness, so when walking through the crowded convention hall, the skirt hem doesn't look too flat. To display the lines of the legs better in the photos, I specially paired it with white knee-high socks featuring a diamond grid texture, combined with garter straps and black platform Mary Janes. This classic Japanese sweet girl style is truly photogenic before the lens. The white mesh socks also become a visual highlight against the dark scene, preventing the frame from sinking into the dark background.

Speaking of shooting poses, this shoot focused more on displaying the character's daily feel and a few casual small movements. The first kneeling stretch action was to showcase the arm lines and overall extension; the second sitting pose with a hand touching the cheek leans towards increasing interaction and playfulness; the third shopping pose pointing at oneself with a thumb highlights that confident and slightly narcissistic setting. However, among this series of photos, my personal favorite is that posture of sitting sideways on the ground, which completely frames the upper and lower body styling into the picture. From the wig, top, and short skirt, to the white stockings connected by garters and the shoes, the visual flow is highly smooth. Combined with the dim background of the convention and the strong direct flash from the front, the light hitting the clothes and face forms an exceptionally clear and translucent texture. The photographer's snapshot timing was also perfect, freezing the most natural and relaxed moment.

Of course, shooting convention photos at an expo also has its difficulties. Convention backdrops are usually quite cluttered, requiring a huge amount of time in post-production to cut out the subject or darken the background, keeping only the main body. Sometimes to ensure a clean background, one might have to sacrifice some rim light, resulting in a slightly rigid silhouette. In the post-processing of this set of photos, the color temperature was intentionally unified, keeping the skin tone fair and translucent while making the pink-and-white plaid colors on the skirt more vivid and clean. Due to the limitations of on-site equipment and environment, shooting under indoor dim light places high demands on the power of the flash and the photographer's light control skills. Fortunately, the final cuts turned out with a very solid texture, beautifully displaying the clothing details and layers.

I am a person who strongly believes in fate, and this sentence written in the caption is actually a highly subjective emotional projection of mine when doing Anime cosplay of this character. Perhaps precisely because of some fate in the dark, the photographer and I could cooperate to shoot this set of photos at the right time in such a noisy environment. Although convention photos might not have the delicate and rigorous light and shadow of a studio shoot, they often carry a powerful presence of the scene and a casual, authentic vitality. I hope this set of Portrait photography can convey the sense of leisure belonging to the character that I wish to express.
