This shoot focuses on Lucy Heartfilia from FAIRY TAIL. Having had a special affection for the Leo constellation ever since childhood, putting on this costume brought back a truly meaningful sense of nostalgia. The overall styling revolves around her striking golden-yellow hair and the blue-and-yellow outfit. I specifically chose wig fibers with a smooth texture so that the Blonde twin tails would look naturally full, and spent plenty of time trimming the bangs until they gently framed and slightly covered the eyebrows. The blue skirt has great texture; the yellow ribbons on the sleeves were specially sewn on, and the duck-shaped accessory on the chest is such a fun touch—I spent a long time adjusting its placement to stay completely faithful to the original design. The small golden wand prop was also prepared with care and carries a nice, substantial weight in hand.

For the lighting setup, we utilized one key light paired with a fill light. Positioning the key light straight on preserved smooth facial contours while letting the light pass clearly through the colored contacts. The first shot captures a straightforward pose holding the prop, while in the second shot, I brought the tip of the wand closer to my lips with a slightly distant gaze, which felt more effective for channeling the character's temperament. The entire costume does get a bit warm to wear, and the puff-sleeve neckline puts considerable emphasis on the upper body silhouette; fortunately, adjusting the style and fit of the undergarments beforehand allowed the chest contours and overall lines to align closely with the original Anime girl character. Beyond the external props, costume, and wig, facial expressions and body language during the shoot are essential to capturing her signature blend of innocence, determination, and gentleness. I skipped full-body shots this time mainly because I wasn't wearing stockings (though they are a staple of her outfit in the original setting), so opting for this half-body angle highlighted the chest details while making the composition feel fuller. Overall, the shoot was an absolute delight—the light reflecting off the golden hair was gorgeous, serving as a heartfelt tribute to a beloved series and a lovely highlight in my Casual cosplay journey.
