Marking the milestone of the first day of the Gate-Closing Month, I'm sharing this Honkai: Star Rail Cyrene Cosplay photo set. Pre-production preparations were mainly spent on the wig and costume details. As a Pink-haired girl, managing the texture of the pink hair was quite tricky as it had a slight sheen, making lighting during Outdoor photography a significant challenge. The chosen venue was a field of pink muhly grass with rock formations, whose background palette harmonized seamlessly with the blue-and-white color scheme of the outfit. For the shoot, I wore white lace-up strappy sandals; this footwear choice flattered the leg lines nicely, allowing for a slender silhouette when striking seated poses on the rocks. To match the gold character print on the jacket cuffs, all accessories were chosen in gold tones.
During shooting, I found that balancing while sitting on rocks required care—the white strappy sandals slipped easily on rough stone surfaces, requiring multiple adjustments to my center of gravity. Composition primarily utilized backlighting with a wide-open aperture, using blurred grass blades in the background to create an airy atmosphere. The wig was blown messy by the wind numerous times; that close-up shot making a finger heart was captured candidly in a brief lull when the breeze calmed down. The fabric of the jacket is somewhat structured and stiff, prone to creasing while moving around outdoors, so after every few action sequences I had to re-smooth the hem to maintain crisp jacket contours. Crouching in the grass for a long time to find good angles left grass seeds prickling against my legs, but seeing the shots on camera made it completely worth it. Without forcing stiff, artificial poses, simply sitting there conveyed a relaxed and natural state for my Casual cosplay.
Post-processing focused on soft lighting and color grading, sculpting the backlit hair and body silhouette more gently. Because the white skirt easily caught dirt, movements had to be kept controlled. This shoot also revealed new discoveries regarding costume details, such as subtle texture variations on the dark blue jacket under direct sunlight. Releasing this Honkai: Star Rail Cyrene Cosplay work on the first day of the Gate-Closing Month marks a fulfilling milestone for this period of preparation.
