Shooting Komeiji Koishi cosplay in a white background photography studio is an interesting endeavor when balancing the character's mystery with the minimalist texture of a pure white backdrop. Pure white studios have low tolerance—overexposure can easily cause subjects and attire to lose depth. Thus, controlling costume colors and lighting directions beforehand was our top priority during preparation for this Touhou Project shoot.

For this Komeiji Koishi cosplay, the outfit adopted a retro Lolita silhouette. The white base shirt fabric features dark-patterned jacquard cotton, retaining cloth details under hard lighting without washing out completely. Dark green lace with embroidered silver-white vine patterns adorns the neckline, perfectly restoring the original color scheme. The dark green layered lace skirt, featuring white rose embroidery on the front and a pleated ruffle hem, anchors the outfit's visual weight well. As for headwear, the exaggerated wide-brimmed black mesh hat took considerable effort, stacked with large lake-blue and white silk flowers alongside lace netting, creating strong visual tension and a sharp contrast focal point against the white backdrop.

For the wig, a mint-green short curly wig was selected, intentionally trimmed with fluffy layers and wispy bangs to match the character's disposition as an Anime girl. Matching lake-blue contact lenses brightened eye expressions, paired with clean, light makeup to present a transparent yet sharp gaze. I specifically styled black stockings and thick-soled black leather shoes—creating a classic cool-toned combination of black, white, and green with black lace and the black hat against the pure white background. This clash of textures and colors feels sophisticated in a minimalist setting for Casual cosplay.

For props, a blue spherical prop with white serrated edges resembles a subtle smile, paired with a winding bright-blue soft plastic tube to add fantasy vibes to the frame. Additionally, I used a white short blade prop in several poses—creating an opposing, contrasting aesthetic between \"refined, elegant Lolita attire\" and \"aggressive cold weaponry,\" representing the character's elusive nature.

The difficulty of white background photography lies in building emotional depth. Since the backdrop is pure white without extra environmental storytelling, all emotions rely on the subject's own presence and posture. For instance, sitting with knees hugged, shrinking into a ball amid vast white space, creates a lonely, slightly broken atmosphere; whereas a finger-on-chin stance or a finger-heart close-up demonstrates her playful yet quietly observing side. As for holding the blade, it highlights the latent dangerous aura within the character.

Regarding pose direction, we kept movements restrained rather than capturing wide dynamic snapshots, focusing on internalizing emotion and static body language. Black lace cuffs, shoulder lace paneling, and stocking lines guided visual flow. In post-processing, we merely unified white balance slightly to ensure a clean, transparent frame. Shooting this set made me feel that a white studio's infinite negative space is truly best suited for characters with mysterious settings, cleanly emphasizing complex tailoring, lace details, and stocking textures.
