I had prepared this light-blue plush pajama set for quite a while, and since I had some free time tonight, I took a set of home-style Casual cosplay selfies, which serves as a recreation of the character's everyday life. Since the shooting time was indeed quite late, I simply leaned into that ready-for-sleep state and blended it into the photos.
Before shooting, most of my effort went into hair and makeup. Styling this short blue wig required patience since synthetic fibers can easily look stiff; I first worked hair wax in to create natural texture, then carefully trimmed the bangs so they fell just right to cover one eye, enhancing the character's distinct mysterious and endearing charm. I covered and redrew my eyebrows with light-blue eyeshadow to unify the facial color tones. For contacts, I chose an ultra-translucent bright blue that enlarged the pupils while making the gaze appear crystal clear. In the eye makeup, I deliberately defined the aegyo-sal and elongated the outer eye lines to make my gaze more expressive on camera. On the lips, I applied a moderately saturated peach-pink lipstick to give a healthy, vibrant complexion.
This Blue-themed outfit hooded plush pajama set feels incredibly comfortable—thick and soft, perfect for indoor shoots. As an inner layer, I chose a delicate white camisole and slightly pulled down the neckline to accentuate the collarbone and bust line. Bringing a subtle touch of sensuality into a home environment actually delivers better results than overly forced poses. For lighting, I mainly used a ring light positioned slightly above and directly in front of me, which created bright catchlights in the eyes while making my skin look more translucent. I experimented with different angles during the shoot: resting my chin on my hand in the first photo looked playful, while the second and third photos were closer centered close-ups directly facing the lens to showcase facial expressions and outfit details—angles that best convey the overall aura. In post-processing, I avoided exaggerated warping, mainly brightening skin tones, softening shadows and minor blemishes, and restoring the true blue hair color to maintain a fresh, cool-toned aesthetic.
Since this was an indoor home setting, I didn't prepare elaborate props, relying instead on fabric textures and emotional atmosphere to convey the character's persona. The character possesses a strong personality contrast—cool on the outside but immensely gentle on the inside—so I kept my expressions relaxed, channeling a late-night sense of languor and affection. Although the mattress and backdrop were simple, combining the plush material with a soft blue-toned filter created a deeply soothing, late-night healing vibe. For a cosplayer, bringing a character to life goes beyond simply putting on a costume; capturing the emotional tone of everyday moments through gaze, angles, and makeup is an art worth mastering. The photoshoot was relaxed and burden-free, allowing for a very natural state. I originally intended to snap just a few photos before going to bed, but the more I shot, the more inspired I felt. I realized that this plush loungewear paired with the character's signature wig and hair clip was remarkably harmonious with her persona. Changing out of costume afterward, I truly enjoyed that seamless immersion into character. Nighttime lighting always helps one settle down to create more authentic, warm visuals. I personally love the late-night vibe captured this time, and given the chance, I'd love to try styling this character across different seasons for a different kind of fun. The texture of this outfit is wonderfully cozy and works great even as regular sleepwear; paired with the white inner layer, the layered depth really comes through.
