[Marciana cosplay] GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE Marine Advanced Studies's sense of vigilance

This time, to shoot Marciana cosplay's Marine Advanced Studies theme, I didn't place the scene by the seaside, but instead chose an esports style room filled with pink and purple neon lights. Because in my view, vigilance cannot be relaxed even on a graduation trip, and staring at the state of the commander and students at such moments is her truest portrayal.

Let's talk about the costume first. The inner layer is a white high-neck tight bodysuit with a fabric carrying a slight glossy feel and excellent form-fitting quality. After putting it on, you must maintain an upright posture at all times; even a slight relaxation will make you look listless. The red glossy material spliced on the sides is the visual center of this styling, carrying its own sense of strict order. To neutralize this seriousness, the lower body is matched with light blue loose sweatpants, printed with white letters 'Penguin Life Guard' and 'PENGUIN' on the side, stepping into a pair of bright yellow platform clogs, letting the overall outfit reveal a bit of everyday liveliness amidst the esports style.

Accessories are the soul of this photoset. Hanging around the neck are a black lanyard and a red whistle prop, plus that work ID card written with L.M.A.D.C. As long as you wear them, that instructor aura naturally comes out. During shooting, I would intentionally touch the whistle with my fingers, or let it hang naturally in front of my chest while sitting; there's no need to deliberately glare, that silent warning implication just emerges. The red translucent visor headband on the head matched with brown long curly hair not only modifies the face shape, but also makes the overall colors more vibrant.

Let's talk about the action design next. The first photo, kneeling on the pink-and-white checkered rug to tidy hair, was meant to showcase the lines of the back and side of the costume; the second photo, standing while brushing hair to one side, sideways showcases the color clash between the white bodysuit and red decorations. In the few photos sitting in the esports chair, I adjusted my sitting posture, such as naturally extending my legs or slightly turning sideways curled up in the chair; these postures produce a wonderful sense of relaxation under the tight bodysuit. To highlight the leg lines, I specifically wore white stockings, matching the yellow clogs, forming a strong color contrast in the pink-toned room.

The photographer put a lot of thought into the lighting. The room itself features pink and purple glowing light strips, as well as those triangular geometric lights on the wall. We utilized these ambient lights as the main light source, cooperating with the cool-toned background of dual monitors and a glowing host machine, creating an esports atmosphere full of technological sense. During the shoot, I needed to keep my core tightened all the time, because the bodysuit has extremely high demands on posture; a slight hunchback or relaxed shoulders would be magnified by the lens.

What moved me the most about Marciana as a character is that line—"Severity is the rule left on the surface; what truly cannot be hidden is the desire to safely send every student to their graduation day." Therefore, in front of the lens, my gaze cannot be too cold; it needs to carry a bit of scrutiny, while also possessing that inclusiveness that constantly watches over your growth.
