This shoot brought to life Momonoka from Arknights: Sur le lac Lune Vivante; glancing through the massive pile of unedited raws in the album, the retouching workload is undeniably hefty. The overall tactile aesthetic of this styling is wonderful: Pink hair twin tails topped with a deep-pink oversized bow, paired with a red-and-black plaid vest over a layered black mini skirt, cinched at the waist by a delicate gold chain. For outerwear, I chose an oversized reddish-brown pinstripe blazer—either draped over the shoulders or hooked over an arm—which elevated dimensional layering. On set, photographer C-kun wanted to freeze dynamic motion, directing stances like turning back in profile or lifting a leg while carrying the bag. To echo the vintage vibe of the wardrobe, the feet were styled with white ruffled lace socks and chunky-heeled black Mary Janes.

The garment fabrics were stiffer and crisper than anticipated, but the thin waist chain dug into the waist easily during movement, requiring constant checks on its natural drape. Maintaining the pink wig was quite tricky—especially the side strands, which needed endless grooming to avoid chaotic flyaways. To elongate leg lines before the camera, keeping the knees locked straight and insteps flexed was essential, leaving my leg muscles thoroughly aching by the wrap. The single-shoulder strap coupled with the massive crimson collar bow pulled visual focus cleanly toward the bodice, while the bare legs were framed neatly by the white socks.

The studio lighting that day featured soft diffused bounce light, yielding a translucent, dewy skin tone and capturing the rich textures of the blazer wool and wig fibers cleanly. Attempting dynamic motions like single-leg balances and spins naturally produced a higher discard rate, leaving a substantial batch of raws still waiting to be culled and edited. The plaid weave registered with rich vintage character before the lens, harmonizing with the canon lore. Whether standing frontal with crossed ankles or glancing back while holding the handbag, each framing held a distinct charm. While every shoot demands immense prep time dialing in wardrobe fit and makeup, freezing such vibrant persona energy makes every ounce of effort worthwhile—now onto finishing the final edits!
