[Hyacinthia Cosplay] Red and White Color Scheme & Prop Recreation in Honkai: Star Rail

Preparation for this Hyacinthia outfit actually took quite a while, especially when it came to refining costume and prop details. The real-scene studio shooting environment chosen for this photoshoot was finalized after repeated comparisons, hoping to fully capture the character's overall ambiance.

The costume portion mainly utilizes a stitching of satin and glossy materials. The dark red main color tone paired with gold piping lines creates a red-and-white color clash that makes the overall layering stand out prominently. The ruffle trim on the white collar and the huge blue bow in the center are the core visual highlights of the neck area; during pattern making, the knot's 3D structure was specially adjusted so it wouldn't sag in front of the lens while remaining light. For waist details, a thin belt echoing the top, combined with a slightly cinched-waist design and the fluffy white gauze skirt hem below, provides a nice drape when walking or sitting. White pantyhose and black shoes with red trim are also essential puzzle pieces for the complete look, especially the small gold decoration on the shoes, which serves as a great finishing touch in side-angle compositions.

Let's talk about props next. This uniquely shaped staff has a grip feel and length that fit perfectly when held in hand without feeling cumbersome. The blue sphere at the top uses semi-transparent resin material, emitting a very natural sheen under side lighting, while the wooden shaft and golden decorative rings achieve a nice balance in texture. The small red top hat on the head, plus white plush hair ornaments and fluffy pink hair twin tails on both sides, were handled with controlled frizz to preserve that natural airy feel, ensuring the shape holds for both outdoor and studio shoots.

For scene arrangement, an environment leaning towards a court afternoon tea style was chosen this time. That golden multi-layered birdcage, alongside the complete European tea set and small cakes on the table, immediately creates a strong sense of ceremony. White angel sculptures on both sides and stacked pink-purple artificial flower clusters in the foreground frame the main subject nicely, preventing the image from looking too empty. A small blue unicorn plush toy was also specially placed nearby to form a harmonious visual connection with the dress's blue bow.

Some thought went into the makeup. The base makeup was kept clean and even, while the eye makeup focused on extending the eyeliner and lengthening the eyelashes. Paired with light blue contact lenses, it makes the gaze look more translucent and lively in photos. Since the outfit's colors lean bright, a natural pink lip shade was chosen so as not to overpower the look while echoing the pink hair twin tails.

During shooting, this slightly fluffy dress, combined with prop handling, puts certain demands on dynamic and static poses. When striking this sitting posture, special attention was paid to leg angles and the presentation of the white tights. White tights under studio lighting conditions actually test the experience of the lighting artist—if the light is too harsh or over-reflected, they lose texture and easily cause the legs to be overexposed. This time, lighting was controlled softly to preserve details in the tights' texture, making the light-dark transition line of the entire look more natural. The overall tone of these photos leans warm, with light scattering through sheer window curtains and a stained-glass background, creating a dreamily translucent feel. Regarding post-processing, no overly complex changes were made—mainly micro-adjustments to overall color temperature to unify tone, and slightly boosting red and white saturation so costume colors firmly capture visual focus without appearing jarring.
