The corset belt and leg straps of this combat uniform truly put wearing techniques to the test. To preserve the sharpest three-dimensional silhouette on the expo floor, I repeatedly verified the tightness of every single metal buckle.

For the wig, I selected fibers with a stiffer texture; the twintail styling required generous amounts of strong-hold hairspray to ensure they stayed upright and crisp even during high-intensity movement. The mechanical beast-ear headpiece on top is the absolute soul of the entire ensemble, reinforced at every joint with hot-melt glue to withstand inevitable bumps in crowded convention halls. The metal neck guard was not only hefty but also had edges prone to chafing my chin, so I applied anti-chafing pads to the interior beforehand.

The red-and-black mechanical lance in my hands was the centerpiece of this project. To achieve that authentic, hardcore sci-fi texture, the prop surface was primed with a matte base coat before layering metallic paints, and the grip was wrapped with anti-slip tactical tape. Although hauling it across the vast hall was physically exhausting, seeing that razor-sharp presence captured through the camera lens made every hour spent sanding and repainting completely worth it.

The waist-mounted tactical pouches and mechanical ornaments were fully functional and could actually open. I even stashed setting powder and lip gloss inside the compartments, allowing quick touch-ups against the venue's heat and humidity without disrupting the costume's clean lines. The pleated skirt was pressed razor-sharp, while the Black thigh-high stockings and straps on my thighs were made from micro-compression fabric, ensuring no unsightly bunching or wrinkling when bending my knees.

At the Hypergryph Carnival, the overhead lights struck this red, white, and black combat suit with surprisingly stunning reflection effects. When someone in the audience suddenly yelled 'Jiejie?!', I instinctively flashed a gesture toward the sound—and in that split second, the character immersion went straight to maximum.

To match the rugged, tactical aesthetic of this gear, I adjusted the center of gravity in my stance, distributing my body weight between a forward stride and a braced back leg. When posing for the camera, not only did the right hand holding the lance need to stay rock steady, but the left fingertips had to maintain a taut, slightly spread posture to project that ready-for-battle tension.

During group shots, to keep the lance tip from getting cropped out of the frame, I conferred with the photographer several times regarding camera height. A low-angle upward shot not only lengthened the skirt and leg lines, but also made the mechanical lance appear truly colossal. A few times, surrounding crowds leaned in quite close; keeping a straight face while ensuring the lance butt didn't accidentally bump anyone became a balancing act—a multitasking skill that every convention cosplayer practically needs.

During break times between floor appearances, I ducked backstage to re-glue false eyelashes and touch up body foundation on my neck. The greatest challenge of wearing this outfit was actually the skintight upper bodice: bending down or breathing too deeply caused the red-and-black colorblocked panels on the chest to shift, so I kept my back strictly straight the entire time. The top edges of the thigh-high stockings left faint pressure marks just above my knees, but paired with the tactical thigh straps, it created an unexpectedly authentic battle-worn look.

After touring the entire convention, my legs were so sore I could barely lift them. But looking through the camera album and seeing the metallic sheen of the costume under the exhibition lights, as well as the sharp yet delicate contrast between the lance and the pleated skirt, all the exhaustion instantly dissolved. The design of this outfit inherently merges tactical function with lightweight mobility, and I'm thrilled to have showcased this unique style for everyone.
