[Asuka Cosplay and Rei Ayanami cosplay] Neon Genesis Evangelion rock band style

This time, along with Manman, I did a Neon Genesis Evangelion rock band AU, and the overall concept completely broke away from the style I'm usually used to. I've seen many fictional band setups for EVA before, and this time I finally had the chance to team up with Manman to bring together Asuka Cosplay and Rei Ayanami. To fit the rock band setting, the photographer and we discussed the scene setup and color arrangement in advance. We chose a blue-and-pink gradient seamless background paper. To highlight the characters' conflict on stage, cool lighting was cast on the left and warm lighting on the right, and the light and shadow hit the glossy leather jacket with exceptionally good texture.
I was responsible for Asuka's styling this time. To highlight the character's tsundere and flamboyant traits, the makeup featured thickened eyeliner, and the eyeshadow used reddish tones. The clothing mainly followed a punk route, with a black glossy leather jacket paired with a red-and-black plaid tie and a pleated skirt, offering rich layers. To add a sense of breathability to the look, the sleeves were made into wide, translucent tulle puff sleeves. The details of this outfit were quite cumbersome, including metal chains and leg rings at the waist. Since Asuka features the classic black stockings element, this time we specially chose a ripped design for the knee-highs, paired with metal thigh rings and red sock covers, which can visually elongate the leg proportions. To match the rock band theme, we prepared an electric guitar, a red baseball bat, and vinyl records. The red electric guitar in my hand was actually quite heavy; wearing it while striking a relaxed yet arrogant pose took quite a bit of effort from my wrists and shoulders.
Rei Ayanami, cosplayed by Manman, carried a completely different temperament. Her outfit was dominated by denim blue and gray, and the halter knit vest heavily tested shoulder and neck lines, so she kept stretching before the shoot. That set of denim sleeves featured plush edges, paired with light purple wide silk ribbons, adding a touch of rebellion to her detached coldness. Standing in front of the pink and blue backgrounds—one blue, one red, one cold, one hot—the two of us created a quite striking visual impact. To better fit the setting of a rehearsal room or an MV set, we also used a film clapboard and photography light stands. Posing with the clapboard on the stage, the backstage behind-the-scenes atmosphere instantly came alive.
The most tiring part of the entire shooting process was actually posing. Since a rock band needs to convey a supreme, untouchable attitude, the gaze had to be aggressive, and the limbs needed to be more stretched out. We tried poses like standing back-to-back, kneeling on one knee while playing the guitar, and carrying a baseball bat while looking down at the lens. Manman was wearing very high platform shoes yet still had to pull off a jumping pose; watching from the side made me sweat for her, but the final photo results were truly explosive. There are actually still many behind-the-scenes photos from this set that haven't been released yet, and we had an absolute blast playing in the studio. The costumes and wigs this time were matched according to this rock band concept, and I hope to convey this cool and edgy stage feel through the photos. For me, being able to participate in a creation carrying a bit of cyberpunk and rock elements was a wonderful experience.
