Today's look is Ade's bunny girl secret agent styling from GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE. The shoot took place inside an expansive, vacant exhibition hall of a convention center, set against orderly rows of overhead lights. The on-site lighting was notably hard, yet this cool industrial setting flawlessly complemented the costume design. The suit blazer was tailored in matte suiting fabric, while the corset bustier, hot pants, and bunny ears featured glossy patent leather. Patent leather carries extreme specular reflectivity; if the angle shifts even slightly, harsh glare wipes out garment textures entirely. Thus, we continuously dialed in camera positions to ensure the light evenly sculpted the glossy patent finish while preserving the rich, dark tactile depth of the fabric.
The element requiring the most meticulous care was the bunny-ear headband. Coated in a high-gloss finish resembling black fractured ice or marble grain, this tactical, techwear-infused design resonates far better with her operative lore than conventional plush ears. The wig was selected in a golden-yellow medium-long cut, with wisps along the face styled to hug facial contours and eliminate stray frizz. For makeup, I deepened the eye contours using an earthy-toned base paired with subtly winged eyeliner, completed by a reddish matte lip to project an aloof, dangerous charm.
In the first full-body standing photo, I held the black prop pistol in my right hand, rested my left hand on my hip, and crossed my legs. Finding the center of gravity for this pose was tricky: to maximize leg elongation before the lens, the spine had to remain straight while keeping shoulders relaxed. The sheer diamond-patterned fishnet stockings (black stockings) caught subtle specular glints under the strobes. While gorgeous, this netting demanded utmost care during wardrobe changes and posing, as props or high heel buckles could snag it in an instant. The wrist-length white gloves echoed the collar and cuffs, acting as crisp highlights against the sea of black.
The second photo, seated atop a tall bar stool holding a wine bottle, presented a more relaxed demeanor. The challenge of this seated posture lay in continuous core engagement to keep the torso erect while crossing legs fluidly. Because the stool lacked a backrest, balance relied entirely on core stability. This pose sought to channel the operative's calm composure during lulls between battles—holding both gun and bottle while keeping her gaze cool and in total control.
The session rigorously tested endurance, particularly as patent leather traps heat and restricts range of motion over long hours. After every set, my assistant wiped away dust and fingerprints using a damp microfiber cloth, followed by a dry cloth to preserve a pristine on-camera sheen. Slip prevention was equally vital: stepping across polished floors in high heels and sleek stockings demanded constant caution to avoid falling.
In capturing the character's persona, I reined in exaggerated movements, as Ade embodies poised efficiency. I reinforced this icy composure by micro-adjusting my chin angle and tightening my gaze focus. The sharp monochrome balance, coupled with stockings and bunny ears, seamlessly fused sensuality with tactical motifs. The chiaroscuro contrast and geometric lines rendered each frame like a cinematic storyboard still. After the shoot, patent leather must be hung in a ventilated, shaded space to prevent hardening or cracking from heat. From fittings and lighting calibration to image curation, these painstaking nuances ensure the final photos honor the lore's intended texture.
