This time, I cosplayed Asuka from Neon Genesis Evangelion, featuring a red and black color scheme dress paired with twin tails. I specially chose this dark red camisole dress with butterfly prints, which has a bit more of a Gothic sweet-and-cool vibe compared to the plugsuit. The wig is the classic orange-red, with slightly curled ends, which, paired with the black bowknot hair accessories, visually restores that flamboyant texture from the animation. For makeup, I emphasized the blue contact lenses and eyeliner, trying to capture a bit of her signature sharp gaze, but being too fierce might scare people off, so I softened the curve a little.

The shooting location was selected on outdoor gray steps; the cold, harsh concrete texture happened to hold down the intense passion of the red, forming a nice contrast. The combination of black stockings and Mary Jane shoes extends the overall look downward, preserving the light-footedness of a girl. The posture sitting on the steps was actually a spontaneous idea, with arms naturally propping behind and the body leaning slightly forward, which elongates the leg lines and makes it look less stiff.

The waist lace-up design of this dress is very demanding on body shape, but luckily the tailoring is quite three-dimensional, allowing the layers of the skirt hem to show when moving around. In terms of props, I didn't carry too much, only wearing half-palm mesh gloves, which makes finger movements more flexible. In fact, the charm of Asuka lies in her external toughness and internal softness. During the shoot, I tried switching between a cold face and a relaxed expression, and finally selected these relatively natural ones. The red and black color scheme is highly photogenic in front of the lens; when the light is soft, you can even see the subtle patterns on the dress, and the details were a wonderful surprise. I hope to convey this slightly rebellious yet exquisite style, treating the accuracy of every cosplay seriously.
