Having locked in this Afternoon tea theme last week, we chose a retro café with superb ambient lighting to shoot this Sigewinne cosplay set. The light blue wig took a long time to style the day before; the pink-purple gradient airbrushing on the hair ends was technically demanding, and the bunny ears featured moderately flexible support inserts inside so they wouldn't collapse when worn or put pressure on the scalp. For makeup, the focus was on the eye makeup: to align with the character design, I crafted rounded, doe-eyed eye makeup, wore reddish-pink contacts, and layered delicate blush to make the overall expression look exceptionally well-behaved and sweet. The collar, cuffs, and skirt hem feature gold sequin embroidery with great texture, though the large red bow and metal hardware on the chest had some weight, requiring constant attention to garment creases during the shoot. To genuinely recreate the vibe of enjoying Afternoon tea together, we ordered the signature tiramisu paired with black tea. The cocoa powder on the tiramisu was very rich; scooping a bite carefully with a silver spoon meant keeping an elegant posture to avoid getting powder on my gloves while controlling facial expressions to prevent lipstick from smudging onto the spoon. During shooting, we tried two different moods: in Photo 1, resting both hands on my cheeks while leaning slightly forward and gazing straight into the lens conveyed the character's playfulness; in Photo 2, looking down at the cake on the spoon from a slight high-angle perspective captured a natural, relaxed dining state. The venue featured warm vintage ambient lighting, creating a pleasing warm-cool contrast with the blue dress, while the wooden tables, chairs, and patterned rug in the background were gently blurred to keep the frame remarkably clean. Post-processing preserved natural skin texture while eliminating excessive airbrushing, as I believe authentic texture matters more than sterile perfection. From location scouting, makeup, and putting on intricate props to confirming camera angles and framing, the entire Cosplay photography process was bustling yet delightful, offering the unique satisfaction of bringing a 2D character into real life visually.
