Today's convention photos of Kinomoto Sakura were successfully shot at the Chengdu Worldline Convention, all thanks to this lightweight yet fluffy dress. For Sakura's classic battle outfit, the outer layer of white satin material boasts fantastic texture under outdoor natural light, carrying a slight subtle gloss that forms a sense of layering with the inner pink skirt hem. The puff sleeves and lace trim at the neckline are key focuses in making this outfit; the silhouette must be crisp and structured to support that gorgeous yet cute feeling. To prevent scratching and snagging from crowds at the convention site, I intentionally chose a slightly stiffer material for the inner petticoat, maintaining fluffiness while not taking up too much space.

The wings on the back were a relatively big challenge for this shoot. To move around in a crowded environment like a comic convention, the base of the wings utilized a hidden strap design, and the feathers were glued on piece by piece by hand, providing an expansive sense of volume without being too heavy to move around. However, because they are so large, extreme caution was still required when passing through security checks and walking through crowds. For the Star Wand prop in hand, to keep it lightweight, the interior was made of lightweight materials, wrapped in stickers on the outside with a protective sealing layer, while the top pentagram and wing details accurately recreated the classic style from the anime.

In terms of makeup, the focus was on highlighting the green circle lenses, with the eye makeup utilizing a relatively clear and sheer orange-pink tone series, emphasizing Sakura's energetic vibe. The wig is the classic brown short hair; those two iconic ahoge on top of the head took quite a bit of time to fix with hairspray and styling spray to prevent them from flying around wildly during outdoor windy conditions. Since there are no watermarks, the colors of the straight-out-of-camera convention photos are already wonderfully comfortable.

The shooting location was chosen in the outdoor plaza outside the convention, where an overcast day is actually a fantastic natural softbox, providing even and non-glaring lighting that preserves costume details exceptionally well. I found a white plush carpet as a base background and borrowed a black folding ladder as a prop. That candid snapshot sitting on the ladder happened to showcase the layers of the skirt and the line definition of the white tights, while the crossed-leg posture also made them appear more slender before the lens.

The character Kinomoto Sakura is a childhood memory for many people. At the convention, I was recognized by quite a few fellow fans and even met several companions carrying Clow Cards. What I enjoyed most about wearing this outfit was that relaxing and cheerful atmosphere: communicating angles well with the photographer, naturally stretching out arms or picking up the magic wand, and capturing a few magical little actions made the entire shooting process extremely smooth. White stockings are indeed very prone to getting dirty when walking around at a comic con, so I suggest fellow cosplayers bring spare socks just in case.
