This photoshoot features the kitty Rem look. As Rem from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, this catgirl maid style has always been immensely popular. Regarding the saying "if true love had a color," visually, the blue hair and pink accents are the core highlights, forming the most distinct color palette in these photos. Choosing the cat-ear version was meant to showcase a cuter, livelier side of the character—differing from her usual cool and collected impression, adding extra charm to her.

Let's talk about the makeup and styling. To give the eyes depth, bright blue contact lenses were chosen to match the light blue wig. The hairstyle preserves the classic fringe covering the right eye, which is essential to capturing the character's signature look. For the makeup, pink blush was applied to the sides of the cheeks, paired with soft pink lips to make the skin look fair, luminous, and doll-like. Additionally, pink-toned highlighter and eyeshadow were applied so that the facial highlights catch the sunlight beautifully.

Her outfit is the classic black-and-white maid dress. The neckline features dense lace trim with a slender black ribbon bow, and another lace-edged black bow sits at the chest. The sleeves are generously wide with ruffles, requiring careful smoothing to keep their shape. The black corset waist is decorated with three white buttons, while the skirt is a tiered, fluffy puff skirt with a black base and white trim. The white stockings look exceptionally textured in this setting, accentuating the overall silhouette. The cat ears and pearl headband are the essence of this version; under good lighting, the pearls give off a soft glow, adding an exquisite touch to the entire headpiece.

The shoot took place in two settings. The first was inside a car, utilizing natural light from the windows and the car interior for a soft lighting effect. Since space inside a car is relatively confined, I smoothed out the skirt and sleeves beforehand to maintain a clean composition. Wearing a seatbelt naturally framed close-up shots focusing on facial and upper-body details. The pink bow prop and cute stickers added a relaxed, playful vibe, while the seatbelt gave the scene a touch of daily life rather than a rigid studio feel.

The second setting was mirror selfies in a well-lit indoor hallway. Mirror shots are great for displaying full-body proportions, especially the flare of the skirt and leg lines. For posing, paying attention to the center of gravity—tilting the head slightly and holding the camera high—helped make the composition more dynamic and brought out the outfit's layered textures. The large mirror made it easy to check the overall styling and adjust poses smoothly.

For post-processing, heavy edits like excessive liquefying or dramatic reshaping were avoided. Instead, a subtle soft glow was applied to give the photos a clean, dreamy atmosphere that fits Rem's pure and endearing aura. The blue saturation was slightly boosted to keep the wig's color fresh and clear. As a cosplayer who frequently portrays characters from this series, wearing this outfit always takes effort—adjusting the wig placement and straightening out layers of lace, which can easily look messy if left untended. Although the preparation took considerable time, seeing the final results made it all worthwhile. This casual, daily-style photoshoot was a great experience, and I'm glad to share my insights with everyone.
