When shooting this Christmas cosplay of Neuvillette from Genshin Impact, the biggest challenge was balancing the warm holiday atmosphere with the character's innate cold, mysterious aura. I put significant effort into handling the Hydro element details on the costume and the silver-blue wig; the white ruffles on the jabot and the embroidery texture on the blue coat showed strong visual expressiveness on camera. Styling the wig was quite time-consuming—not only did the feather accessories need to be firmly secured, but the hair strands also had to remain airy and flowing. To avoid messing up the hairstyle, I even had to turn my head with utmost care, keeping my neck angle as steady as possible.

Regarding posing, the photographer requested that I showcase an elongated, slender silhouette as much as possible. My favorite is the final shot reclining on the brown leather sofa, where crossed legs accentuated the lines and, paired with black tights and tall boots, visually lengthened lower-body proportions. The choice of Black stockings fabric was ingenious: it not only harmonized with the character's noble demeanor, but also took on a subtle dewy sheen under warm lighting. When shooting front-facing standing poses, straightening the back and consciously tightening core muscles was essential to carry the presence and texture of the coat.

For the set design, a vintage study room was chosen and decorated with a Christmas tree, using red-and-green elements to brighten up the cool-toned frame. The actual indoor temperature during shooting was quite low, and posing continuously in relatively light attire was genuinely chilly, but we persisted to achieve optimal lighting and shadow effects in this Cosplay photography session. The long-handled cane and thick tome served as anchoring props, giving the poses natural support and making the overall frame more vivid and dynamic.

During retouching, emphasis was placed on the delicate sheen of the genuine leather and the reflective properties of the blue fabric, bringing the textures closer to the character's Hydro theme. This collaboration was wonderful; as a female cosplayer interpreting a male character, finding a compelling sweet spot between handsome coolness and sensuality was deeply rewarding. The long silver hair paired with refined eye makeup and a fair porcelain base looked exceptionally atmospheric on camera.

The trickiest part throughout the shoot was actually holding the large open book; holding it with one hand easily looks stiff, requiring tilted angles and directional gaze coordination to achieve the desired effect. After multiple attempts, we finally captured the most satisfying expression. The outfit was somewhat substantial and the shoot was long, requiring occasional adjustments to the chest accessories to ensure proper lighting reflection in the frame. I hope the overall result lives up to everyone's expectations for this Neuvillette cosplay look.
