This time, I took on the styling of Sakiko Toyokawa from the Arknights × BanG Dream! Ave Mujica collaboration. Given the concept's powerful stage presence and dark Gothic style aesthetic, the costume's details are exceptionally intricate. The pair of curved black horns atop my head was custom-ordered from a prop maker; featuring a lightweight internal armature and textured faux-leather exterior, they didn't feel overly heavy to wear. Paired with a long, straight light-blue wig and black satin ribbons, a fine plait was braided on the right side to add visual depth, while a golden star metallic emblem adorned the center of the forehead in this Sakiko Toyokawa cosplay.
For the makeup, emphasis was placed on deepening the eye layers, layering reddish eyeshadow tones paired with yellowish-green colored contact lenses to accentuate a porcelain complexion. The lip was painted in a rich, vintage red to channel the character's aloof and distant temperament. The black off-the-shoulder dress incorporated generous ruffles and satin textures; to break up visual heaviness, I deliberately added light-blue ribbons and crisscross straps at the waist and cuffs as accents, creating a harmonious chromatic bridge.
The styling of the lower half was the crowning highlight of this ensemble. Sheer Black stockings featured extensive distressed cutouts, stitched with lace along the borders and hand-sewn with pearls and rhinestones that caught subtle glints when moving. On my feet were black platform biker boots accented with blue fabric and strap details along the shafts, instantly turning up my stage presence to the maximum. The studio featured a pure white seamless backdrop with cylindrical podiums, illuminated by cool-toned, even diffused lighting to cleanly display the intricate depth of the black garments.
During shooting, I experimented with varied poses—such as lifting the tiered skirt hem to showcase the asymmetrical cut, or raising one leg to highlight leg contours and the platform boot details. Because the skirt features a high-low hemline with a gossamer trailing train, moving and pivoting required mindfulness to keep the lace from tangling. To stay true to character, I continuously modulated my presence, keeping my spine erect while extending my fingertips gracefully inside long gloves. Overall, donning this look and striking poses demanded meticulous attention to detail, but the dramatic tension of the final shots made it all worthwhile. I truly hope you enjoy this photo set.
