[VTuber cosplay] Punk Rock Maiden of Night City: Cyberpunk 2077 Street Photoshoot

The concept for this photoshoot centered on V from Cyberpunk 2077. To capture the authentic pulse of Night City, we deliberately scheduled the session at night across a commercial street aglow with neon light strips. Rather than replicating the high-tech tactical combat gear seen in the game, the aesthetic fused cyberpunk edge with Japanese punk rock aesthetics, seeking to portray an alternate facet of V outside mercenary contracts—deeply embedded in the underground rock subculture.

The styling carried numerous intricate touches. The hairstyle featured black twin pigtails with ash-white chunky highlights, framed by dense blunt bangs that lent a nostalgic Y2K anime sensibility. The cosmetic base adopted cool undertones paired with light-colored contact lenses and elongated winged eyeliner at the outer corners. In keeping with the punk motif, the nails were styled into long, ornate extensions.

The wardrobe ensemble was the crowning piece of the production. Beneath, I wore a black lace-trimmed camisole printed with pink cursive script and ribbon bow motifs, layered under a lightweight black long-sleeve cardigan with subtly flared bell sleeves. The lower half showcased an asymmetrical spliced pleated skirt where red-and-black tartan overlapped with monochrome plaid to deliver rich visual depth. Across the legs were over-the-knee Black stockings, with the left thigh cinched by a black leather garter strap featuring metallic buckles. Footwear consisted of chunky black platform combat boots detailed with metallic eyelets and white lace frills, delivering commanding visual punch. Around the neck, studded leather chokers were layered with silver chain necklaces, complemented by metallic waist chains and a Fernandes electric guitar finished in black-and-crimson grain, fitted with a black mesh strap.

Shooting on location proved to be a real endurance test. The solid-body electric guitar possessed noticeable heft, and balancing in heavy platform boots while sustaining diverse poses along the sidewalk placed strong demands on core stability. For the seated strumming pose beside the concrete pillar, I repeatedly adjusted the grip along the fretboard and picking hand to avoid looking rigid on camera. Similarly, leaning against metallic lampposts demanded continuous core tension to preserve fluid posture. The nocturnal ambient lighting was invaluable—LED strips wrapping around architectural columns and soft bokeh orbs in the background infused the frames with futuristic mood. Because the styling elements were already so visually dense, I intentionally streamlined my posing—such as tapping the cheek in Photo 1, touching the jawline in Photo 4, and casting a stoic, unblinking glare in Photo 9—allowing visual focus to settle cleanly upon the overall attitude and outfit.

This aesthetic set rigorous demands on wardrobe and prop curation. Through these photographs, I hope to channel that chaotic, vibrant pulse of rock energy thriving beneath the cyberpunk horizon.
