This time, I tried integrating Nahida's image into a sailor JK uniform. Nahida's color scheme in Genshin Impact is mainly white and green, so when choosing the uniform, I deliberately looked for a style with a light green bow tie and pleated skirt. The short-sleeved sailor top has a relatively slim fit, and the green lines on the collar echo the original character's clothing elements. The badge on the chest was also chosen with green elements; although different from the original design, it maintains consistency in the color palette. To recreate Nahida's hair color, I wore a silver-white wig with light green highlights, with slightly curled hair ends and longer sideburns on both sides, which can better fit the character's original demeanor when turning the profile and lowering the head.
In terms of makeup, no overly exaggerated processing was done, mainly emphasizing the clarity of the eye makeup, while keeping the base makeup clean, fitting Nahida's pure setting as the God of Wisdom. A light-toned eyeshadow was used as a base for the eyes, the eyeliner was extended just a bit, and the eyebrow color was adjusted to match the wig color. However, because I used a phone to block my face for selfies, the focus was placed more on the overall atmosphere and posture, which also makes it feel more everyday.
The shooting location was chosen in a room piled with plush toys and anime figures, with an air conditioner covered by a light blue dust cover with an expression. The doll wall and display shelves in the background added a casual feel intertwined with daily life and 2D anime elements, and this corner full of personal living atmosphere is actually very photogenic. Sitting on a white chair while wearing pure white knee-high socks, I tried different sitting postures. The crossed-leg and pigeon-toed poses better showcase the drape of the uniform while naturally presenting the leg lines, and the wrapping feel of the white stockings paired with the white chair looks very clean visually. The lighting mainly relied on the side fill light and ring light, keeping the overall tone bright and translucent while avoiding shadows on the face. Because of the face-blocking shoot, the lighting focus was placed on the texture of the clothing and the overall environment.
For cosplaying, the texture of the clothing is very important. The fabric of this sailor uniform is relatively crisp, and the knife-pleats of the skirt are sharp, not completely spreading out even when sitting down, maintaining the proper shape of a JK uniform. It took some time to knot and style the wig; to avoid looking too bulky, the layers were trimmed, and hairspray was used to fix the fluffiness on top of the head. Although the overall styling made some everyday adjustments, it retained Nahida's core recognizability, such as the matching of hair color and main color tones.
During post-processing and layout, some hand-drawn white line doodles were added, which not only enriched the image but also added a bit of playfulness, fitting Nahida's image quite well. The process of bringing a 2D anime character into a real-life uniform is very interesting, and finding the balance between coordination and accuracy is a detail that needs careful deliberation in every creation. This sailor uniform version of Nahida is a relatively relaxed, everyday-oriented attempt, not pursuing extreme prop accuracy, but focusing on clothing texture and overall image coordination.
