[Nero Cosplay] Fate/Grand Order: My Very First C107 Event Photos

Taking convention photos for the very first time, my initial nervousness was instantly melted away the moment the shutter clicked, replaced by the warmth of kind strangers and the focus of the spotlight. Arriving near the C107 venue while carrying this red-and-white military maid outfit alongside a pile of props turned quite a few heads, but it certainly took a heavy toll on my stamina. The gold chunky heels in particular were a real test for my ankles after walking for so long, yet keeping them on was essential to elongate my leg line.

The shooting location was set against an industrial area featuring trucks, blue containers, and traffic cones; this unconventional ruins-style background unexpectedly made the outfit pop brilliantly. During the backlit golden hour at dusk, the photographer constantly guided my angles, utilizing low-angle shots to accentuate my leg lines and better bring out the character's commanding presence. Paired with white lace stockings and an apron, the overall visual delivered a balance of maid-like gentleness and military sharpness. During the shoot, I experimented with poses like lifting a leg or holding up the hem of my skirt. When holding the tray, I deliberately incorporated a red rose to keep my hand posture natural—evoking both serving tea and resting between battles, which brought the entire frame to life.

Since this was my first time at C107, I spent a long time practicing my stance and expressions beforehand. To avoid looking stiff, I visualized scenarios of the character fighting or serving trays in my mind, translating those into physical posture adjustments to heighten the theatricality. Watching other cosplayers during breaks was inspiring; everyone was so professional, and that passionate energy was deeply contagious. The interplay between lighting and facial expression is remarkably subtle—skin reflections occasionally overexposed, requiring repeated trial and error to catch the optimal light flares. This costume boasts abundant details; the golden tasseled epaulets and skirt lace looked stunning under the warm evening light, though movement was rather restricted since bending slightly would mess up the skirt folds, demanding constant adjustments.

Looking back at this set of photos, I feel my very first attempt passed the test. Waking up at dawn for makeup was exhausting and standing in heels drained my energy, but seeing the resulting interplay of light, shadow, and character presence made it all worthwhile. The combination of props and costume against a modern industrial setting forged a striking contrast, delivering a visual experience entirely removed from daily life. This journey not only gave me wonderful photos but also left me with an unforgettable impression of the convention vibe. Given the chance in the future, I'd love to take on more layered, nuanced characters like this. Returning to the hotel, all I wanted was to kick off my shoes and rest before heading home tomorrow.
