The event photos from the CICF Expo have finally been edited! This time I'm cosplaying Eurydice from Identity V. This is my very first gold-tier skin. When I first saw the poster in the game, I was completely smitten—the fluffy orange curly hair paired with the large flared skirt is the definition of cuteness itself. To recreate this set, I did a lot of research on the wig, using high-temperature fibers to style airy loose waves, adorned with small flowers and green leaf hair accessories on top. For the eye makeup, I deliberately wore green contact lenses and applied crushed diamonds around my eyes, hoping to create an otherworldly, exquisite doll-like feel.
The details of the dress are extremely intricate; the square collar and puff sleeves flatter the collarbones nicely, and the lace bows at the cuffs and waist require careful styling. The skirt features layered ruffles that give it a substantial, heavy feel when walking. Among the entire equipment set, my favorite is the black-haired button-eyed doll in my hand; the cross-shaped eyes and stitched mouth perfectly match Identity V's slightly creepy yet gothic style. Holding it to take pictures at the venue really felt like bringing along my most precious friend.
Since these were outdoor event photos, the lighting was actually quite tricky to control. When the wind blew, the skirt fluttered, and I'm quite satisfied with the candid shots captured by the photographer Qingfeng. Especially the ones holding the red wax seal envelope gave a feeling of delivering my thoughts to everyone in front of the screen. It was actually quite hot on the day of the convention; wearing this complex Lolita-style dress plus the wig was definitely a test of physical stamina. To maintain this fairy tale atmosphere during the shoot, I kept holding up the skirt, but seeing the final photos made it all worth it. Organizing these event photos today is also a way to record this dreamy moment belonging to Eurydice.
While strolling around the venue, I met many fellow fans who recognized the character. Everyone was very enthusiastic in praising how accurate the costume was, and quite a few people even came over to take pictures with little Eurydice. To ensure the shooting results, I specifically chose the park's green belt as the background; the dark tones of the foliage could well highlight the layering of this pure white dress, fitting the character's natural yet slightly mysterious vibe. In fact, to rush to the convention, I woke up exceptionally early that day, and makeup took a lot of time, especially the sequins for the eye makeup, which required patient adjustment piece by piece. Although the skirt looks gorgeous, it's very easy to step on when walking and posing, so I had to gently lift it with my hand all the time. Under the sunlight, the light gold trim along the edge of the skirt and the white floral embroidery truly reveal their luxurious feel.
Besides standing poses, I also tried quite a few sitting poses, such as sitting on a stone path with the doll placed on my knees, or lowering my head to gaze at the doll in my hand. These actions showcased the character's gentle and quiet side. Later, switching to the pose holding the envelope added a touch of storytelling, as if handing you an extremely important letter. I am truly grateful to the photographer Qingfeng for their guidance during this shoot, giving a lot of suggestions on poses and expressions, and capturing Eurydice's bewildered yet innocent feel with great precision. In fact, preparing for conventions and event photos every time—from raw costumes to wig styling, to various on-site adjustments—is a major project, but being able to resonate with a favorite character through this process and seeing each satisfying photo brings a sense of fulfillment that is hard to describe in words.
