This set of Patchouli photos shot by Sakuya is truly beautiful, especially the full-body shot in P1. The composition, light, and shadow are all just right, and I've repeatedly rewatched it several times myself. For this session, from the curl and layering of the wig to the lace trimming and cascading ruffles of the skirt hem, everything tries its best to restore that classical yet magical atmosphere of the original work. The magic book prop in my hands was also specially customized; when flipped open, the patterns and decorative details on the pages deliver a solid texture under the lens.

The overhead lights and reflective floors at the exhibition venue actually demand high control over the lighting, but Sakuya used cool-toned post-processing, which instead makes this pink-blue-purple gradient outfit look even more translucent and dreamlike, creating the illusion of walking right out of a pile of magic books in a library. Actually, what took the most thought in matching this outfit was the bows on the chest and sleeves, as well as the color scheme of those platform shoes—aiming for both a unified tone and a sense of hierarchy. Although wearing it for a whole day was a bit tiring, seeing the final photos makes me feel it was all completely worth it.

During the shoot, we also experimented with different movements—lifting the skirt corners, holding up the book, and turning slightly sideways. Sakuya's convention photography snapshots were incredibly natural, completely free of any stiff, staged feel. In addition to the wide shots, the close-up half-body portraits also beautifully showcase the details of the makeup; the eyeshadow and blush echo the hair color, giving a powerful sense of overall unity. This shooting experience was fantastic, with every detail getting its best presentation through the lens.
