[Keqing cosplay] Genshin Impact Opulent Splendor Photoshoot Diary

Today I shot Keqing's Opulent Splendor outfit from Genshin Impact. The details on this costume are extraordinarily rich: the black lace fabric features subtle damask patterns, while the blue bowknot at the neckline is crafted from lustrous satin that feels premium to the touch. The skirt itself radiates in bright cobalt blue accented by golden foil prints, and to faithfully recreate that floating, ethereal flow, I specifically incorporated a long violet-blue trailing ribbon that pools gorgeously across the floor.

Speaking of the legs, I chose opaque black stockings to pair with this miniskirt, primarily to sculpt and elongate the leg silhouette. When seated on the tatami, the subtle light reflections across the black stockings rendered the leg lines exceptionally sleek and continuous. The photographer suggested sitting sideways, which maximized the visual elongation of the legs while allowing the skirt flounces and trailing ribbons to cascade outward naturally.

The wig was styled into light purple twin tails, crowned by feline-shaped ear hair buns. Securing these ears required a multitude of bobby pins, but the on-camera result looked remarkably seamless. For the makeup, purple-pink contact lenses deepened the layered nuance of my gaze, paired with eyeliner softly elongated at the outer corners. The round uchiwa fan clutched in hand was curated with great care, embellished with blue-and-yellow floral blossoms that harmonized flawlessly with the overarching blue-purple palette.

This shoot was staged in an indoor studio adorned with lavish cherry blossom branches, crimson backdrops, and timber folding screens. The tatami matting felt authentic and comfortable to sit upon. For the lighting setup, a warm key light illuminated the skin with soft, flattering tones, while a cool rim light was positioned along the side to carve out the subject's contours, imparting a serene, vernal Japanese aesthetic across the frame.

The entire shoot was quite physically demanding: the outfit carries numerous intricate accessories that make changing cumbersome, and holding an elegant seated posture kept my legs and waist constantly engaged. However, viewing the raw captures made every bit of effort worthwhile. Whether it was the placement of the round fan or the tactile sheen of the black stockings under the strobes, everything met my exact vision. The visual impact of this styling is striking, with distinct, well-calibrated chromatic layers. From the black lace to the vivid blue and through to the sleek extension of the opaque black stockings, every single facet was tuned with care. To ensure the trailing ribbon did not clutter the composition, I collaborated closely with the photographer, iteratively adjusting my seated angles.

Curating the final photos, I feel this set captures both the luxury and poise of the Opulent Splendor design. The overall color saturation is rich, with the sakura pinks complementing the blue-and-black tones of the gown. As a cosplay endeavor, the sheer polish of this styling left me deeply fulfilled, marking a thoroughly rewarding creative journey.
