The theme for this Azur Lane Ping Hai photoshoot was "I Want to See the Sea." Although the location lacked an actual ocean, the garden's koi pond, stone bridge, early-spring cherry blossoms, and autumn maples brought me a quiet sense of serenity. This modified red cheongsam was the centerpiece of the look: the sleeveless silhouette paired with high side slits visually elongated body proportions. To enrich the styling with versatile layers, I prepared a brown plush shawl alongside a long white faux-fur coat, ensuring I could stay warm during outdoor standby. For the lower half, I coordinated over-the-knee black stockings with various high heels; the slimming visual compression of black stockings against the vivid crimson cheongsam formed a striking contrast, effortlessly balancing the character's intrinsic cuteness with a subtle touch of mature elegance before the lens.

I incorporated several hairstyle variations: twin tails paired with metallic hairpieces and headphones felt energetic; double braids radiated gentle grace; and twin buns adorned with panda plushies added extra sweetness. On the makeup front, I kept the base light, luminous, and natural, using warm-toned eye makeup to mirror Ping Hai's approachable girl-next-door aura. Throughout the shoot, I utilized diverse props—cradling a small panda plushie, as well as holding a wooden bowl and ramen prop along the stone stairs of a Japanese-style street, infusing the frames with vibrant, lived-in warmth. A Shiba Inu plushie we stumbled upon nearby even turned into a delightful background cameo. Walking along the cobblestone pathways in high heels was undeniably tiring—especially while continuously adjusting posture to find the most flattering leg angles—yet the moment I saw the preview frames, all the fatigue vanished into thin air.

The weather on shooting day was gorgeous: sunlight filtered through tree leaves onto the red silk fabric, catching delicate specular glimmers off the golden embroidery and making the final shots feel remarkably vivid. The greatest hurdle in outdoor location shoots lies in unpredictable lighting shifts and pedestrian foot traffic; to capture pristine, uncluttered backgrounds, we waited through multiple waves of passersby. The cheongsam features a form-fitting cut that is somewhat unforgiving on posture, so I managed my physique closely beforehand to faithfully capture the character's signature lightness. I brought stockings of varying opacities, and after on-site trials, found that a deeper, sheerer black best grounded the vibrancy of the red dress, establishing a stable visual center of gravity. The shoot spanned from morning through twilight, transitioning across two primary settings—traditional gardens and historic streets—while switching through three hairstyles and pairs of footwear. Though physically exhausted, my heart felt completely fulfilled. I will keep experimenting with varied styles to deliver even more polished visual works in the future.
