My schedule for Wuhan Dreamland this October is fully confirmed: I will be attending both Day 1 and Day 2, bringing along my personal Lighting array. I'm looking to connect with a few photographers at the event to collaborate on high-quality Convention photo shoots or full official photoshoots.
To briefly detail my lighting setup: I primarily carry a key light, fill light, rim light, and a handheld fill wand. In the chaotic lighting and heavy foot traffic typical of comic conventions, having an independent Lighting array allows us to bypass cluttered ambient hall lights and achieve crisp, translucent facial tones.
I've explored various aesthetics before. For instance, the blue-and-white dress paired with over-the-knee Black stockings requires careful attention to leg lines and overall body proportions. Applying a front key light paired with subtle cool fill light from the side accentuates leg silhouettes and skirt pleats; framed from a slightly low angle, the final image gains an airy, ethereal grace. By contrast, the red-and-black suit and purple-and-black gothic witch outfits rely heavily on dramatic lighting contrast—lifting facial highlights while suppressing background clutter to amplify a dark, moody ambiance.
I also have concepts like a little devil and casual dress looks prepared. If photographers prefer shooting with telephoto lenses in crowded halls, I can coordinate positioning to frame out background passersby effectively. During shoots, I take direction well while naturally adjusting angles, facial tension, and eye lines. With substantial modeling experience, fine-tuning catchlights, jawline angles, and leg contours comes naturally to me.
I'm open to both quick Convention photo sets and dedicated official photoshoots, though the latter naturally requires dedicated time to scout ideal spots. Rather than sticking to static poses, I adapt postures based on fabric textures—such as the sheer opacity of Black stockings or delicate lace patterns on dresses. The Lighting array is practical indoors and can even double as a backlight to build layered depth.
For hair and makeup, I've prepared carefully in advance, tailoring contouring specifically for harsh convention hall lighting so the face reads clean without looking caked on camera. On site, I proactively adjust to lighting needs by tilting my head, turning my torso, or repositioning light stands. Visiting Wuhan Dreamland is also a wonderful opportunity to make new creative friends; convention photography is a collaborative effort, and I look forward to working with photographers who have clear ideas for composition and lighting.
