The event photos of Nanakusa Nazuna shot at the Xi'an Mengxiang Comic Convention have been successfully completed and released. This black leather jacket and cropped inner layer have a very strong sense of design. To perfectly present the tailoring of the clothes, I spent a lot of thought on choosing the inner layer, finally selecting this black sporty cropped base layer with hollow-out designs, paired with black leather pants, presenting an overall look that is capable yet carries a bit of cool-dashing style. The leather jacket material is glossy; once worn, the heavy weight and draping feel are particularly obvious, and when walking, the hem has a very casual feel. The wig part is the key focus: a light purple bob with blunt bangs, with a thick braided bun coiled on each side. To secure these two buns, I sprayed nearly half a bottle of styling spray and used numerous bobby pins, and fortunately, it didn't get messy despite running around at the site.
In terms of makeup, to fit this slightly 2D anime-like temperament, I chose bright blue circle lenses. The eye makeup used a pink-toned blush swept over a large area under the eyes and cheeks, and the lip color chose a relatively translucent pink. The overall color contrast is very strong, but under complex lighting like that of a comic convention, this somewhat flat lighting makeup actually looks exceptionally textured, and its photogenic effect is extremely resilient.
Huge thanks to the photographer and post-processor @馍老头 (Mo Laotou). There were tons of people at the comic convention site, and finding a camera angle wasn't easy. We chose this indoor space with large floor-to-ceiling windows, utilizing the cool-toned natural light pouring in, which happened to contrast with the black leather jacket. When shooting, the space was relatively open, and the photographer had me try a few more poses, such as akimbo or grabbing the jacket. I especially love the eye contact in the first photo, and the semi-off jacket pose in the second photo where I grab the collar of the leather jacket and pull it upwards—this action not only exposed the layering of the inner layer but also brought out a casual, unconstrained vibe. The reflection of the leather jacket material was captured exceptionally well on-site, with the unique texture of leather being very strong, matching the cool-toned background, yielding unexpectedly great photo results.
Striking poses on-site was actually quite a test of clothing control, because the inner layer is a cropped short version and the leather pants are low-waisted; I had to maintain pose tension to showcase the waistline and clothing details while avoiding wardrobe malfunctions. Fortunately, the clothing fit well this time, and the leather's elasticity was quite good, allowing me to move relatively relaxed before the lens. The skin-toned tape on the back of my hand was also specially pasted by myself, serving as a small detail. The overall color tone of these event photos leans cool, and the post-processing by the editor is also full of atmosphere, retaining the textures of both the leather and the skin. Although walking around wildly at the comic convention for a day was exhausting, seeing the finished photos made me feel that everything was totally worth it.
