[Nanakusa Nazuna cosplay] Call of the Night Nurse cosplay styling, ready for Firefly ACG Expo - Image 1

I've finished prepping Nanakusa Nazuna's nurse outfit and will be wearing this look to Firefly ACG Expo. The wig is styled into light lavender-pink pigtails, braided with delicate plaits on both sides to introduce rich layering. To recreate the character's enigmatic gaze, I wore ice-blue circle lenses and deepened the under-eye blush blending, which blends with everyday makeup to evoke a distinct 2D anime presence.

The wardrobe features a stand-collared white short-sleeved uniform accented by a single round button across the chest. To resonate with the dark gothic undertone, I paired it with pure black matte nail polish. The black cross on the nurse cap was a custom detail I added to keep the styling from looking too plain.

Heading to Firefly is mainly to shoot some Convention photos. The uniform silhouette is crisp and structured, making it easy to walk around the convention floor. While a straightforward nurse design, bringing together the wig and makeup achieved solid character fidelity. When posing, I instinctively splay my fingers or bring my hand close to the lens to highlight the contrast between the dark nails and the overall palette.

For convention shooting, I typically steer clear of cluttered backgrounds, seeking dark walls or geometric textures to isolate the subject. Regarding lighting, I lean into the hall's natural diffused ambient bounce or use an LED fill to pop a catchlight in the eyes, making the ice-blue irises pop even more. I hope to run into fellow fans on-site to swap shoot insights. This look contains numerous subtle details—from wig maintenance to makeup color balance, doing homework beforehand is essential.

To keep the hair bouncy all day, I treated the roots with setting spray in advance and adjusted the pigtail placement multiple times so they wouldn't collapse on camera. For makeup, the base utilized a fair foundation which, paired with ice-blue lenses, maximized the translucent look of an anime character. The pink blush under the eyes is the crowning touch: hinting at an edgy, slightly yandere vibe without going overboard, looking exceptionally photogenic under studio lights. The white nurse fabric can catch glare under expo lighting, so mindful angling is needed to prevent blowout.

Besides this Nazuna nurse look for Firefly, I prepped alternative outfits, but if the weather runs hot, this short-sleeved nurse dress is definitely the most practical choice. Walking across the halls all day calls for soft-soled shoes, as conventions are serious physical workouts. Without complex accessories, coordinating the overall aesthetic required thoughtful care. For instance, high-gloss black polish might feel too abrasive, so I specifically opted for a matte black finish to achieve harmonious visual balance against the white fabric and pale hair.

There should be plenty of fans of the series at the convention, and running into other cast characters for interactive Convention photos would be amazing. I value natural facial emotion and effortless posture, and for this nurse set, I plan to explore more hand choreography and tight close-up portraits. Dropping a quick makeup test photo for now; once on site at Firefly, I'll share more Convention photos with everyone. All prepped and ready—see you at Firefly!
