Sharing the Qiqi photo-op Convention photos from the 17th at Genshin Impact FES. This hair and makeup styling was mainly crafted to match the Chilly Miracle collaboration skin. To faithfully recreate the pale purple hair color, I used a gradient dye on the wig, paying special attention to the curvature of the bangs and the fluffiness of the hair ends during styling to avoid looking stiff. In terms of eye makeup, since the colored contacts were reddish-brown, I intensified the blending on the upper eyelid and drew a slight downward slant along the lower eyelid to highlight Qiqi's innocently confused yet adorable gaze. The blush was applied somewhat heavily, paired with setting spray to retain full translucency on camera.
There were many intricate details on the costume. The blue denim overalls put the tailoring to the test; I selected a slightly stiffer fabric so the pants wouldn't collapse when seated, which created great layers when paired with the white long-sleeve shirt and purple jacket. The dark blue beret and gold coin hair accessory on my head had to be firmly fastened with bobby pins, as outdoor winds were strong and could easily displace them. The dotted white talisman paper on the side of my face was the finishing touch; I carefully angled it with double-sided tape so it wouldn't obstruct my entire face while showcasing the character's traits. The penguin plush doll was also key to recreation accuracy, and I specially sewed snap buttons to prevent it from dropping in crowded convention halls. For the White tights cosplay look, wearing white over-the-knee socks, I chose a matte compression style to ensure they wouldn't snag during a full day of walking around the venue, keeping leg lines shapely while ensuring ease of movement.
The shoot was split across three scenes. Night scenes were taken under incandescent lamps where the light was harsh, requiring careful adjustments to find reflective angles. During daytime outdoor shoots, the sunlight was strong, casting beautiful tree shadows against the white wall; however, it was prone to overexposure, so I paid close attention to shadow transitions. Photo 4 was shot live at the anime convention; against a bustling, chaotic background, a wide aperture blurred the backdrop, perfectly highlighting the overall styling.
At the venue, I genuinely felt everyone's immense love for Qiqi. Thank you to every Traveler who came to take photos with Qiqi—everyone was so friendly, proactively cooperating with poses and handing me snacks; everyone playing with Qiqi is truly wonderful. In particular, some friends brought Qiqi merch specifically for group shots, which felt immensely rewarding and made walking so many steps across the exhibition hall completely worthwhile. I hope nobody loses their 50/50s, everyone wanting Qiqi pulls her, and you can put all the Qiqis into my bowl so I can feast happily!
