[Viviana cosplay] Arknights Candle Knight's Dark Gothic Convention photos

Today, this set of Viviana Convention photos is finally out. Going to the Hangzhou Arknights Only this time, choosing this outfit really tested physical strength. First, regarding the makeup and styling part, to restore the character's cold yet mysterious temperament, the base makeup was made relatively white, the eye makeup used a reddish-brown eyeshadow blend, paired with light grayish-blue contact lenses, plus long golden curly hair, and the overall atmosphere came together. For the headwear part, that white hood and black-and-gold checkered hair band took a long time with clips to secure firmly. The branch horns on top of the head are actually not heavy, but combined with the plush ears on both sides, the angle needed to be adjusted to look natural.

In terms of clothing, the white cape has black straps and golden metal buckles. I made some minor detail adjustments myself to make it more three-dimensional in front of the lens. The inner black cutout and the strap design on the chest actually felt quite secure when wearing it on the convention day. The lower body's white mesh stockings paired with white metal armor high-heeled long boots are truly a super long legs artifact, but walking a whole day at a convention is really tough on the feet. However, photographer @Nord is really good at candid shots; the one sitting on the carpet holding a long sword has an absolute masterclass use of light. The red background light outlines the contours, while the front uses a candelabra to cast a warm yellow light, perfectly showcasing facial light and shadow as well as leg lines.

When holding the candelabra and the sword, I needed to keep my arms steady because the candlelight was very faint; a slight shake would affect the frame. The golden inscriptions on the sword blade also had great texture under dim light. The entire shooting process lasted about two hours. Because these were Convention photos, there were quite a few surrounding tourists, so we chose a relatively quiet area with a red carpet. Photographer @Nord's lighting equipment is very complete, and the contrasting light of red and warm yellow fills the entire frame with a Gothic and dark fantasy flavor. Actually, this outfit has quite high requirements for displaying body curves; when striking poses, I had to constantly pay attention to pulling in the stomach and stretching the legs to achieve the best visual effect. To ensure the mesh stockings didn't get snagged, I was also extra careful when sitting on the ground, trying to make the legs present a natural bending arc and elongating visual proportions by adjusting the position of the boots.

When shooting the first half-body candelabra photo, to express that gazing feeling, my eyes had to keep staring at the lens, with my face facing the warm yellow candlelight, while also highlighting the details of the eye makeup; the halo in the pupils was captured at that exact moment. For the second sitting sword-holding image, the direction of the sword tip and the extension direction of the legs formed a diagonal line, making the composition fuller. Because there were quite a few props, both hands had to simultaneously manage the weight of the candelabra and the sword. In reality, my core strength was tense all the time, but it had to look effortless and elegant in the finished photos. During shooting breaks, many fellow fans passing by the convention praised the styling for being faithful to the original, which gave me a lot of confidence.

The atmosphere of this Hangzhou Arknights Only convention was exceptionally good, and I met many friends who love the same work. Although the venue was quite crowded, everyone was very polite. The shooting time for the Convention photos was actually very tight; finding a suitable background amidst the crowds while avoiding reflective passersby and debris demanded high standards for the photographer's composition and post-processing. @Nord's post-processing preserved the true texture of the skin while strengthening the light-and-shadow contrast, making the red ambient light present in the original photos even more intense. From preparation to the final finished photos, a lot of thought went into polishing the props and styling the wig. From the root fluffiness of the wig to the position of every single stray hair, I fussed in front of the vanity mirror for a long time. The metallic texture of the prop sword and the retro carvings of the candelabra were also meant to present the best visual effect at this convention. Actually, every time I do an outdoor shoot or Convention photos, it's a dual test of physical strength and patience, but the moment I see the finished photos, I feel that all the fussing was completely worth it. This is some rambling thoughts about this set of Viviana Convention photos. I hope this set of pictures allows everyone to feel the charm of the character herself. Moving forward, I will continue to work hard to prepare new styles and shoots.
