[Flaming Dream cosplay] Winter Outfit & Convention Photos Record at Offline Genshin Impact Expo

Convention photos record from the Shanghai Anime Convention on December 2nd, compiling a collage set from the day of the event. Rather than deliberately posing for the camera, I favored candid shots capturing a relaxed, natural state, which, alongside the light-colored wig and plush clothing materials, presented a cozy winter atmosphere. The overall styling focused on cool blue-and-white tones, paired with a white scarf and stockings, visually elongating body proportions to look fresh and layered.

Lighting inside the venue was complex, mixing harsh ceiling lights with natural diffused light through French windows. This environment is challenging for cosplay photography as it easily overexposes wigs or creates harsh facial shadows. Therefore, shooting required actively tracking light source positions to create smooth transitions between shadow and light, achieving soft facial contours with a subtle angle tilt. Additionally, I incorporated some red-toned outfit styles with Chinese elements, which proved exceptionally flattering on skin tone.

Regarding outfit coordination, I preferred cold-resistant yet light-looking items. A white faux rabbit fur jacket or off-white chunky knit scarf provided fluffy warmth visually while balancing out the thinness of the core costume. For lower wear, the White thigh-highs outfit proved eye-catching at winter conventions; paired with skirts or shorts, it accentuated leg shapes while aligning with the character's overall demeanor.

Convention photography frequently faces tight schedules. For maximum efficiency, I pre-planned several versatile compositions, such as low-angle sitting shots, high-angle standing shots, and half-body close-ups. Disliking single-image posts, I arranged them into multi-photo collages, combining varied styles for richer visual presentation.

A fisheye lens was used during shooting to add fun; wide-angle perspective stretching imparted unique tension, particularly ideal for showcasing close-up gestures like reaching out or resting chin on hand. Passersby naturally stepped into frame, but I believe convention backgrounds thrive on bustling crowds to showcase the authentic vitality of offline events.

Regarding post-processing, the approach prioritized restoring genuine on-site lighting without heavy filter usage. Preserving real-scene color contrasts and light moods—especially evening orange ambient lights contrasting against the white jacket—created a warm yet mysterious feel. While organizing photos, I specifically selected shots with comfortable color balance and composition for layout design. These are my authentic impressions and shooting insights from the convention; it was a deeply enjoyable experience connecting closely with fellow fans and witnessing everyone's dedication to cosplay.
