I spent an entire day arranging the set, taking quite a long time just to adjust the hydrangeas and creeping vines, but fortunately, the final scene captured the serene ambiance of a fantastical garden. Today's character for the shoot is Nicole Reeyn. The outfit features a woven palette of white, purple, and blue accented with gold linings and geometric cutouts, with off-the-shoulder flared sleeve covers adding immense richness to the details. To match her overarching aura, I specifically wore a long, straight pale-blonde wig and vivid blue contact lenses, marking a red diamond sigil on my forehead.
The shoot was carried out using a Hasselblad X2D II 100C. The resolving power of this camera is truly breathtaking; the lace textures on the fabric, the ribbons at the cuffs, and even the metallic sheen of the headpieces were rendered with astonishing delicacy and clarity. Throughout the session, my favorite set was the one taken on the white European-style sofa. Dressed in white stockings and white chunky high heels, posing atop the plush rug actually required a surprising sense of balance. Holding a book, I strived to keep my posture naturally relaxed, crossing one leg slightly while gently cradling the open pages with both hands. When framing the shots (as the photographer was myself), I had to pay constant attention to the ethereal luminosity of the light filtering through the sheer drapes onto the white gauze skirt. For the frames holding the teacup, beyond maintaining steady hands, my gaze had to express tranquility and gentleness.
Prior to the shoot, I kept pondering how to convey that sensation of someone who, despite losing her voice, still treasures the past and gently points the way for the lost. That was why I avoided flamboyant poses, opting instead for restrained posture. Reading quietly on the sofa, or kneeling among the blossoms cradling the book with a subtle tilt of the head—I wanted to align with the character's narrative through this static body language. The shoot came with its share of hurdles; for instance, the blue tulle and pearl strands on the hemline easily tangled and needed frequent tidying. Luckily, the atmosphere remained deeply immersive, with the white carved folding screen and candelabra props adding immense flavor to the frames, helping me slip into that classical, fantastical state with ease.
From preparation to completion, what I enjoyed most about this Cosplay photography was watching her dedicated space take form piece by piece through the camera's viewfinder. Every click of the shutter was not just a freeze-frame of light and shadow, but also a renewed reading of her story. Sorting through these images, I feel that this encounter with Nicole Reeyn truly testifies to that phrase—the story never ends; she remains there, watching over everything in her own gentle way.
