This shoot was a studio production simulating a sandy beach and poolside environment; the set built by @Fuguimiao Photo Studio was remarkably immersive—fine sand, blue mosaic pool tiles, and varied summer props like lifebuoys and beach balls crafted a thoroughly authentic seaside atmosphere.
Featuring cosplayer @nanami💐, this session tackled Elysia Herrscher of Human: Ego Cosplay. Extensive prep went into hair and makeup to honor the character. The pink-and-white gradient wig required meticulous brushing to prevent tangles, while the white rabbit-ear headpiece was anchored securely. As the character features elf ears, attaching the prop ears required repeated micro-adjustments following the hair flow to look natural and seamless. Purple contact lenses paired with soft pink eyeshadow and blush brought harmonious warmth to the facial palette.
The wardrobe centered on a purple-and-white spliced two-piece swimsuit cosplay. The top is a halter-neck cut bordered with white ruffled trims and accented at the waist by a delicate gold metal chain. The bottom is a mini-skirt featuring tiered purple-and-white ruffles draped under a sheer white tulle overskirt. Detached flared white sleeves added an airy lightness around the arms. While sitting by the pool, great care was taken to drape the skirt so every ruffled tier layered crisply on camera. The first shot captures me seated on the poolside edge with legs dangling naturally—a posture requiring an upright, taut spine to keep the leg lines fluid and graceful. Because of the simulated sandy floor, finding a stable seating angle took some trial and error.
The second shot transitioned into a profile seated pose with legs crossed. This posture demanded steady core control to balance the torso while angling my face alongside the photographer's cues, allowing the light to graze the side of my facial contours. The blue bounce reflections from the pool tiles provided wonderful ambient fill light, which was carefully preserved during color grading to retain that crystal-clear cool tone.
For the third shot seated on a wooden stool, hand gestures were incorporated to enhance visual interaction. Fingers had to remain soft and poised, angling subtly toward the face to guide the viewer's focal point. The biggest hurdle throughout was actually the simulated sandy ground: sinking slightly with each movement meant continuously recalibrating stances to hold my center of gravity steady. Meanwhile, lighting was continually refined to prevent harsh dark cast under the eye area.
The beauty of studio shoots lies in complete command over lighting and backdrop, free from weather whims outside. From constructing the set to adjusting costume folds, directing poses, and pacing emotions, every step required deep patience. The overall aesthetic embraced fresh, sweet radiance while weaving in a playful touch of summer energy. I hope this photo set delivers that crisp, breezy seaside charm to everyone.
