The Honkai: Star Rail 3rd Anniversary offline event in Hong Kong was an awesome \"run to Elation\" experience, and I cosplayed Evanescia! Ever since seeing the event preview, I knew I wanted to do a shoot here—the outdoor lighting and urban cityscapes of Hong Kong cosplay spots truly yield fantastic photography results.
Preparing this costume involved surprisingly more technical details than expected. While the white shirt is a classic base piece, the neck bowtie and the dark geometric ornament beneath required precise positioning to maintain depth under natural daylight. The corset sash is one of my favorite elements—it's not merely decorative, but features a large, striking golden circular crest, along with a plush pink rabbit charm dangling from the belt and two cascading pink tassels. These small accessories keep the black pleated skirt from looking plain, injecting a lively, playful energy.
The wig is light pink with subtle off-white highlights, complemented by longer side strands intentionally left to frame the face. The white rabbit ears on top form the soul of this outfit, embossed with pale gold patterns that required a firm attachment while maintaining structural uprightness during movement. A red bow on top and small side floral hairpieces resonate beautifully with the color theme. Meanwhile, black tights paired with chunky platform uniform shoes sleekly elongate lower-body proportions, particularly accentuating leg length in seated poses.
The location was set on an open outdoor terrace in Hong Kong, where high-rise glass curtain wall buildings in the background provided a sleek urban ambiance. In the center stood a huge, curved purple bench, creating a vibrant color contrast against the pink wig and white shirt. Seated shots on this purple bench produced well-balanced compositions and more relaxed expressions. Thanks to the bench's curved contour, leaning legs slightly to the side came naturally, displaying the black tights' subtle texture. Standing poses offered a classic character recreation, resembling waiting for a friend in the game lobby. Although gusty outdoor winds kept swaying the rabbit ears, we embraced the breeze to capture genuine, dynamic movement in our convention photos.
Capturing her character demeanor required striking a balance: Evanescia possesses a mysterious yet joyfully free-spirited temperament. Rather than forcing over-the-top facial expressions, I maintained focused eye contact while expressing her vibe through subtle hand gestures—such as gently touching the top of my head, resting my chin on one hand, or extending a hand backward in an inviting motion. This relaxed yet deliberate restraint aligns perfectly with her personality.
The atmosphere at the Honkai: Star Rail 3rd Anniversary offline event was marvelous, packed with fellow fans interacting and sharing enthusiasm. Wearing a complete costume and immersing myself in the crowd to feel everyone's shared passion for this universe brought immense joy. Communicating with the photographer, we deliberately avoided high-traffic passerby areas to keep visual focus centered on the character. The resulting lighting in these cosplay photography shots feels comfortably balanced, preserving natural outdoor ambiance without sacrificing garment details. Ultimately, the belt charms and bunny ear supports held up flawlessly through the shoot. As a standard convention photos breakdown, this set documents not only the character, but also a cherished memory from the 3rd Anniversary celebration.
