The plan for this shoot started right from character prep, centering on how to capture Wakaba Mutsumi's signature sense of aloof distance. The mint-green hair tone is notoriously easy to get wrong; I spent extensive time layering and trimming to ensure the strands looked lightweight rather than heavy. To complement her ethereal presence, I selected the fairest foundation shade and large-diameter green contact lenses. Instead of sharp eyeliner, I used a wash of pinkish eyeshadow diffused under the eyes, blended with muted grey and yellow-green tones on the eyelids to achieve that subtly melancholic yet crystal-clear gaze. The hair clips on both sides had to be firmly anchored so they wouldn't slip and block my vision when tilting my head.
The dark blue Sailor suit served as the core piece, with white piping along the collar and cuffs accentuating a quiet, studious aura. To avoid any bulky silhouette sometimes caused by sailor uniforms, I chose a high-waisted pleated skirt paired with knee-high Black stockings and brown loafers, significantly elongating leg lines in full-body frames. Allowing the wig strands to drift softly balanced the visual weight.
We shot against a seamless pure white cyc wall, using large softboxes for the key lights and surrounding reflectors so light wrapped gently around the subject. Without clutter in the studio, the entire focus shifted to the gaze and props. In the shot where the chamomile bouquet conceals the mouth, the goal was to preserve the character's understated mystery; finding the right hand placement took multiple attempts to keep the wrists relaxed and fingers naturally curved. In post-processing, shifting the white balance toward cool tones and gently lowering saturation kept the atmosphere luminous and pristine. Highlighting skin translucency while retaining organic texture yielded a paper-like, clean editorial finish, making this MyGO!!!!! exploration deeply rewarding.
