[Sandrone Cosplay] Genshin Impact: The Elegant Mechanical Marionette

The opportunity to shoot this Sandrone look stemmed from wanting to express the unique aura of cold machinery coexisting with maidenhood. Combining the "total ragdoll cat" style mentioned in the post description, I deliberately emphasized eye contours and eyelash presence in the makeup design. Paired with a fluffy light-blonde wig, I hoped to create an exquisite BJD doll makeup atmosphere with a hint of detachment. The black lapel collar with white trimming around the neck is very eye-catching, and the red teardrop ruby pendant creates a striking visual focal point against the main black-and-white color scheme, serving as the very soul of the entire styling.

To give the outfit more depth, the outer white top features subtle jacquard patterns. The black leather bracers pieced at the cuffs contrast in texture with the dark red lining fabric; every time I raise my hand or hold a cup, the fabric drapes naturally. While capturing this textured photoshoot set, I chose a wooden display rack filled with various porcelain cups and teapots as the backdrop, which felt perfectly aligned with my gesture of holding a floral teacup saucer. Props and scenes with a retro Western-style aesthetic work nicely to soften the character's sharp sense of oppression, adding a touch of quiet ease.

During the shoot, to portray a marionette-like posture, my shoulders, neck, and spine had to remain straight at all times. The hand movements holding the teacup required measured control—neither too tense nor too loose—to convey an ambiguous sense of composure. Because the costume structure is quite complex and the white sections easily attract dust, extra care was needed during shooting, and I had to repeatedly adjust the wig bangs and the pendant's position on my chest between takes.

Completing this photoset took a lot of effort, but looking back at the preview through the camera lens, the sense of character immersion brought by this specific styling was indeed a wonderful experience. Even with such an ornate costume, I personally preferred presenting it with restrained expressions and natural light and shadow, avoiding over-exaggeration that could feel forced. This photoset mainly focuses on still life and half-body close-ups, stripping away excessive post-processing filters to retain the authentic texture of skin and fabrics in this textured photoshoot. The cups and books in the background add narrative depth to the composition, and I feel this photography style better aligns with the exquisite loneliness of her setting as the "Marionette" in Genshin Impact.
