【March 7th cosplay】Honkai: Star Rail: The Astral Express Girl with Pink Hair and Blue Eyes - Image 1

This set of March 7th photos taken inside a car was done spontaneously while on the road, taking advantage of the ideal lighting conditions. Portraying this character from Honkai: Star Rail meant that hair and makeup details accounted for the majority of the preparation work.
For the Pink hair styling, I chose a wig with a soft gradient from light pink to pastel pink-white. To faithfully recreate the airy and layered hairstyle from the character design, I carefully trimmed the bangs beforehand. The crown volume required backcombing on the inner layers for support, ensuring the side strands framed the face flatteringly when falling naturally. While the overhead car lighting highlighted the hair strands, it also beautifully accentuated the smooth, silky texture of the wig.
The focus of this Anime-style makeup lay in the eye contouring and matching the overall vibe. The light blue contact lenses needed to harmonize with the outer eyeshadow; I blended peach-pink and coral-red tones across a wide area of the lower eyelids, giving the eyes a soft, innocent gaze true to the character's temperament. The lashes were curled and accentuated to visually enlarge the eyes from the front. I opted for a semi-matte foundation base paired with subtle highlighters on the center of the face, keeping the skin looking translucent without appearing shiny in the tight, direct lighting of the vehicle. A glossy pale pink lip glaze completed the fresh, dewy makeup look.
The collar design of this outfit is highly recognizable. The black-and-white sailor collar paired with a sky-blue bow offers a crisp and clean color contrast. A black choker around the neck accented with a golden circular metal buckle elevates the overall texture. The bright gold buttons on the jacket echo the bow's accents nicely. In a confined space like a vehicle, clean garment silhouettes and accurate details are crucial; the white collar and pale purple shoulder straps keep the upper body from looking plain.
Shooting in a relatively enclosed environment like a Car interior photoshoot makes lighting a double-edged sword. Natural light streaming through the car windows served as the primary light source, providing gentle rim lighting across the facial contours. To create depth, I primarily used close-up compositions, angling the camera slightly downward to capture expressions from a subtle low perspective. Sunlight reflections through the window occasionally cast delicate glimmers across the hair strands, adding visual layers. However, shooting inside a vehicle also requires caution—such as avoiding unwanted reflections on the glass and carefully managing camera-to-face distance to prevent wide-angle distortion.
Every stage of cosplay is fascinating—from perfecting the makeup and styling the wig to finding the right moment to shoot. Completing this set on the go brought a sense of spontaneity and freedom compared to studio setups. Pink tones under natural light often present softer, more vibrant hues than under artificial lamps. Organizing these photos brings back memories of the shimmering tree shadows and sunlight outside the window. As a cosplayer, every fully geared mirror check is a fresh review of character details. Heat-styling resilience for wigs and long-lasting makeup wear are constantly put to the test throughout a full shoot cycle.
