Getting straight to the point, I finally managed to produce this full Castorice cosplay photoshoot! In fact, the entire journey from initial prep to the final set of photos was quite a long process. When first deciding on the creative direction, I spent a lot of time discussing it with the photographer and set designer. The core goal was to capture that mystical, butterfly-themed dreaminess, so we locked in a sweeping purple palette as the dominant color tone for the whole scene.

First off, regarding the costume: the skirt design is simply breathtaking, crafted with dramatic butterfly-wing textures. To ensure it flowed with an airy, fluttering feel while walking or turning, we chose a breathable fabric with just the right drape. The bodice features three-dimensional floral accents, while the waist strapping and hollowed-out cutout details add rich layers as well as a hint of subtle allure. Paired with purple-and-black color-blocked opera gloves and white over-the-knee Stockings patterned with diamond-shaped cutouts, the entire outfit strikes a wonderful balance between elegance and sensuality.

A major highlight is definitely the dedicated giant scythe prop in my hands. The blade was made from translucent resin embedded with pink-purple LED light strips; when turned on in low lighting, that surging sensation of swirling magical energy came alive instantly. However, this scythe wasn't just huge—it was genuinely heavy, making the shoot a true workout for my core and arm strength. For shots like the third overhead angle where my body was tilted, I had to firmly anchor my lower body while keeping the scythe pose fluid and natural. After several sets of poses, my arms were definitely sore, but seeing the final photos made every bit of effort worthwhile.

The reflective water-ripple floor set up at the venue was the crowning touch. Combined with the purple main light source, it created gorgeous reflections across the surface, seamlessly tying the character into the backdrop of European-style classical columns and vastly enhancing the depth and fantasy mood of the scene. The vintage candelabras, golden birdcages, and oversized blue and purple butterfly figures scattered around all resonated flawlessly with the motifs of my outfit. The photographer was exceptional at capturing nuances: the first close-up clearly highlighted the purple contact lenses and elven ear accessories, immediately bringing out that cool, aloof gaze. My personal favorite is the fifth full-body shot; the standing posture highlights the leg lines beautifully and shows off the intricate details of the Stockings. Posing continuously in heels by the water edge was exhausting, but seeing this complete visual piece, all the fatigue was instantly replaced by a deep sense of accomplishment.
