Under the summer sun by the infinity pool, gentle ripples refracted dazzling flecks of light—this was the setting for shooting Robin • Summeretto. To bring out the ideal summer ambiance, targeted adjustments were made from makeup and styling to photographic technique. For makeup, a high-performance waterproof base was used, layered with pink and blue eyeshadow tones, and accented at the outer eye corners with rhinestones and teardrop glitters. Blush was swept generously beneath the eyes to impart a sun-kissed, flushed radiance. The wig featured a soft gradient transitioning from light blue to pale lilac with subtly curled tips and a hand-braided side plait, interwoven with starfish hair clips and white feathers to honor the character's avian feather motif.

The outfit was a two-piece blue-and-white swimsuit embossed with star patterns and finished with a sheer tulle skirt drape, accented at the hip by a bright yellow sunflower that injected a touch of warmth into the cool-toned palette. In terms of accessories, a navy choker was paired with white floral accents, while ribbons and star decals adorned my limbs. The halo prop above my head was molded from acrylic and finished with metallic spray paint, fastened securely into the wig fibers with concealed fine wire. The handheld microphone prop was waterproofed and customized with dainty white wings and blue stars to echo the full ensemble.

Capturing submerged and semi-submerged shots in a swimming pool places heavy demands on stamina and core stability. As fabrics become heavier when saturated, keeping the upper torso upright while extending the legs smoothly underwater required continuous breath control. This series primarily leveraged 3:00 PM side backlighting, which lent an airy, glistening brilliance to splashing water. Photographer Deluyinglouman utilized high shutter speeds to freeze dynamic water splashes, using wide apertures to melt distant buildings and trees into soft bokeh, keeping the focal priority squarely on the character.

To allow the sheer skirt to fan out organically across the water's surface, I repeatedly stirred gentle underwater currents by hand to create subtle buoyancy. Facing the lens required keeping my gaze crystalline and clear, ensuring facial muscles didn't tense up instinctively from soaking in the pool. To accentuate that shimmering, wave-dappled texture, finding the right immersion angle was vital—aiming water reflections across the collarbones and necklines while adjusting camera angles to eliminate cluttered surface reflections. Posing near the edge of the infinity pool allowed the sky and water to merge seamlessly, producing an expansive feeling of boundless extension.

For cosplayers looking to try water-based shoots, I recommend testing base makeup waterproofness in advance and sewing non-slip wig caps into the wig interior. Once in the water, minimize violent head turns to keep synthetic fibers from tangling. In choreography, lean into the water's natural buoyancy and drag—kicking up water or turning sideways with a glance back over the shoulder effectively highlights garment tailoring and body curves. Always verify prop colorfastness before submerging; if props are not waterproof, clear acrylic stands can be used to hold them aloft.

This shoot spanned from early morning through dusk, with the sun's angle shifting continually and the water transforming from a translucent aqua to a deep sapphire blue. Prop arrangement, hair dampness, and splash control—every nuance required verification through the viewfinder. This photoshoot preserved memories of sunshine, water droplets, and the blue-and-white dress, completing an all-encompassing summer outdoor cosplay experience.
